Welcome to Gmail!
Now that youve switched from Lotus Notes to Google Apps, here are some tips on beginning to use Gmail and your other new Apps.
Google Apps
Here are the key differences youll notice when switching from Lotus Notes to Gmail:
In Gmail ...
Access mail securely via the Internet, from any computer, anywhere
View messages and their replies, listed as individual Messages and their replies are grouped into entries scattered throughout your Inbox conversation threads Place a message in a folder so you can find it later Attach one or more relevant labels to a message, then find it based on any of its labels Sort messages by sender or date List messages from a particular sender or within a date range using Gmail search Check spelling after composing No need to delete, thanks to virtually unlimited storage space. To unclutter your Inbox, archive messages, instead Archive to the cloud where all your email is instantly available Star important messages Receive notifications of new email using Google Notifier or Google Talk. Receive notifications of new chat messages using Google Talk Forward all messages in a conversation thread
Archive to a desktop file. (You must then expand the archive for access) Flag important messages Receive notifications of new email
Gmail Composing
In Lotus Notes ... Start a new message

Google Apps
To prevent the spread of harmful viruses, Gmail does not allow you to attach executable (.exe) files. Choose multiple files in the same folder by Controlclicking (Command-clicking on the Mac) the files you want to attach to your message.
Gmail Conversations

If a message includes quotes from previous replies, Gmail hides the quotes from view. Click Show quoted text to view all the text to be included with your reply. Click Reply to reply only to the sender. Click Reply to all to include everyone who received this message.
