The Employment and Training Administration (ETA)/American Society of Training & Development (ASTD) Technical Assistance Forum will be taking place in Chicago at the Sax Hotel (333 N Dearborn Street). This technical assistance forum will have as its focus; Youth service delivery strategies, Rapid Response/Labor Market Information facilitated dialogue, and the Trade/Dislocated Worker Roundtable. We acknowledge that you and your staff may be under severe travel restrictions and unprecedented work demands, but we ask that you support participation of your key Youth, Rapid Response and LMI state level program staff members, as well as your Trade and WIA DW staff who regularly attend the Trade/Dislocated Worker Roundtables. You, of course, are also welcome to participate as your schedule permits. All events are free, but advanced registration is required. An overview of the planned activities is listed below. Youth Service Delivery Strategies This TA forum will deal with the economic realities that the public workforce system serving youth must focus on preparing them to secure jobs in high demand industries and occupations. State youth program administrators, Youth Council members and direct providers of youth services will engage in a facilitated peer-to-peer learning exchange on day-one and multiple workshops addressing key program emphasis areas on day-two. The curriculum will emphasize the connection between work experience, training, earning of credentials, and success in the workplace for our young people. Rapid Response and LMI Forum The working forum is a follow up to the Regional Rapid Response Forum many of you attended at the Heartland 2010 Conference, and will focus on facilitated dialogue to help States develop enhanced LMI capability to provide labor market intelligence to affected workers during Rapid

Response. The discussion topics on day one will include gathering and sharing field intelligence, an update of the regional Rapid Response Common Worker Survey, cross-training of staff, and day two will focus on the facilitation of dialogue between state LMI staff and RR personnel in order to increase collaboration. Trade/Dislocated Worker Roundtable This semi-quarterly event will be hosted by the Employment & Training Administration and is scheduled to begin immediately following the conclusion of the Rapid Response/Labor Market Information Technical Assistance Forum.
