JUSTIFICATION The total floor area of the X-men family is---which is insufficient compared to the total space requirement of the family which is------- . It is considered as a health threat because it can cause limited movements to the family members like in doing household operations , in sleeping (cannot extend well their body) and during mealtime (cannot eat altogether that decreases the familys bond). There is also higher risk of transmission of diseases via direct contact, airborne and droplet spread. Manpower is available in order to partially modify the problem like proper placement of furniture for space and disposing those things that they are not using. Their other things such as the clothing of the sibling of Mrs. Berta and some boxes containing their things can be placed in their evacuated house then for the meantime to have wider space inside their house. But due to the lack of time, they cannot give much attention to this problem. The children were too young to do the household operation while Mr. Berto does not have enough time because he has no day-off in his work. Mrs. Berta cannot do it by herself because she is also busy in caring for her children and doing household chores. However, for the complete solution to their problem, the family can expand their floor area or make a new one but it needs financial assets in which the family cannot provide due to the insufficient income (P 7,000). The family recognizes their problem and they were aware of the cited interventions mentioned previously as noted upon conversing with the parents but they do not have any idea of the possible undesirable effects of having inadequate living space. In this case, the student nurses can provide health teachings regarding the effects of having inadequate living space to their

health. We can encourage them to take further actions in solving the problem. We can also stress importance to their health. We can discuss possible risks that they may acquire in their kind of situation.

PREVENTIVE POTENTIAL

The problem is severe in which case that there were reported cross infection of disease to their children as Mrs. Berta have said. Like when Kelly had fever and immediately the day after that ,Tony had also fever. It affects the whole family making them prone to direct contact, airborne and droplet-borne diseases. The problem exists for years now since the family reside in their house for 3 years now. The children were the primary high risk group because they only have underdeveloped immune system so they are more susceptible to diseases especially their newborn child which is ust 2 weeks old. Currently, Mr. Berto has a under construction house beside their place of residence but due to financial constraints and lack of time, he canot able to finish it. It is considered as a problem to the family but not needing immediate attention because they are already used to yhat kind of living surface and does not feel crowded because their children were still young so they do not accumulate much space in their house and Mr. Berto does not usually stays in their house because of his work. Siguro kapag nalkaluwag-luwag dun na naming patapos yung bahay total hindi naman nagmamadali iyan tska maliliit pa naman yung mga anak ko. Di pa kame masyadong nasisikipan. , as verbalized by Mrs.Berta.
