Have you ever dreamed about running your own country? Do you have the skills and knowledge to work as part of a team in charge of setting up a country? This week our students have been discovering the benets and pitfalls of community decision making as they continue in their quest to decide how to govern a country. In music we are learning the song 21 Guns by Greenday. We are exploring how the song can be interpreted and accompanying our singing by playing the bass line on the Orff instruments. By studying a song that is played on the radio, we are bringing music from outside school into an educational context with the goal of becoming more aware and analytic about the music we hear in our day-to-day lives.
