Innovative Planning for Teachers by The Curriculum Divas

Educators seem to have many resources available to help teach, plan, and implement standards based teaching in their classrooms. With our planning tools and documents, your staff will benefit from an organized and specific pacing guide system for each grade level to be able to plan and implement framework teaching. We offer a fun, hands on training that takes a teacher from understanding the standards to setting goals with the High Impact Rubric to pacing and planning framework lessons that are student driven and promote higher order thinking.

Phase 1 (Days 1 and 2) Earning Your Crown *Receive first quarter planning documents and training protocol Explicit training directed toward the understanding and implementation of a standards based classroom including information on the following: Day 1: Assess staff with High Impact Rubric and set goals Use Crosswalk with CCSS to help teachers make connections and understand learning outcomes. Teachers will participate in an anticipation guide based on knowledge of teaching with frameworks Teachers will then build their knowledge of the parts of a framework with a hands on activity Yearly, Quarterly, Weekly pacing for each grade level will then be presented to the grade level teams to work through with engaging and productive tasks

By the end of Day One, teachers should be able to identify framework parts and use the pacing documents to begin to plan daily lesson plans and pull resources needed.

Day 2: Use all resources from day 1 to gather resources and plan for the first nine weeks using pacing documents provided. Each teacher will have to read all frameworks and tasks and plan for the collection of materials and resources.

Phase 2: (Days 3 and 4) A Night Out With the Divas *Receive second quarter pacing materials and training protocol Provide explicit training for daily planning with the frameworks. Using the weekly and quarterly pacing, teachers will learn to plan and set up a management system for daily planning. Day 3: Using menus teachers will learn how to order their materials and resources needed to plan with the weekly pacing Next teachers will experience hands on daily planning with an entertaining theme. Teachers will use popcorn boxes with opening, work session, and closing activities to plan daily lesson plans with three important focuses o o o Day 4: Using the daily planning materials and resources, teachers will be able to work as grade level to talk about lessons. They will also create lesson plan with an opening, work session, and closing. Coming Soon to DVD= review prior standards and learning to help make connections Main Attraction= plan and present the current framework task for all subject areas Future Releases= make connections with past lesson and current to future lessons

Phase 3: (Day 5 and 6) Spa Day with the Divas *Receive third quarter pacing materials and training protocol Through a series of activities, teachers will learn to use assessment data in all forms to form flexible small groups to support all areas of curriculum. Day 5: Each teacher will receive a spa menu. The menu will guide the teachers on what assessment provides and how to form flexible groups from the data. The menu will also give resources and strategies for the flexible groups

Day 6:

Teachers will use current data to build guided reading, writing, and math groups. They will also use planning materials to create small group lessons.

Phase 4: Days 7 and 8 Shopping for Accessories with the Divas *Receive fourth quarter pacing materials and training protocol Teachers will learn to build assessments. They will learn to create and administer rubrics, CFAs, Running Records, etc. Day 7: Day 8: Shoes: how to build and use CFAs Purses: how to build and use rubrics Jewelry: how to build and use Running Records (resource list of places to purchase)

After reflecting on the Shopping Day, teachers will use lesson plans, pacing, and resources to begin to build different types of assessments.
