INTRODUCTION The students of MBA - Autonomous Program of CMR INSTIUTTE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES (AUTONOMOUS) are required to undertake a Community Work at the end of Second Semester in a NGO / Non Profit Organization for a period of two weeks under the guidance of the Department Faculty Guide assigned to them. The student has to submit a report on the same as per the guidelines. Students defaulting will not be eligible for award of MBA degree & will have to redo their Community Work next academic year. The breakup of marks are given below Report Evaluation Viva Voce Total 25 Marks 25 Marks 50 Marks

OBJECTIVE OF COMMUNITY WORK The Objectives of Community Work Report & Viva Voce Examination are as follows:

To create an awareness of Social & Environmental issues of the day & thereby a deeper understanding of the human community & self

To develop a sense of concern & commitment to the weak & under privileged in the community

To understand wide variety of Community development initiatives To familiarize the student to the new avenues & opportunities for entrepreneurship Social

PRESENTATION OF COMMUNITY WORK REPORT


It is necessary that the students follow these guidelines. The Final report should be presented in the following sequence: Title Page Students declaration Internal Guide Certificate Acknowledgements Executive Summary Table of Contents List of Tables List of Graphs/Charts List of Annexure (if any) CHAPTER 1 PROFILE OF NGO: This chapter must include an introduction to NGO (its location, nature of community works involved, head office, number of branches), Vision & Mission statements, philosophy, history, achievements/awards, etc CHAPTER 2 ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE: This chapter should contain organization hierarchy chart, interpretation of organization chart, name & designations to be provided CHAPTER 3 DAY WISE PROCESS REPORT: This chapter should contain Day Wise activities undertaken by the Student. Everyday must begin with the Objectives of the Day & Process Report of the day involving sequential recording of activities in bullets. Everyday has to end with the achievements of the day, where a brief comparison to be made with the Objectives of the day & any discrepancies to be suitably justified. Finally the Days learning / Experience has to be provided.

CHAPTER 4 CONCLUSION: This chapter must conclude with learning experience of the student along with its influence / impact.

BIBLIOGRAPHY: List of books, articles, websites that are referred and useful for Internship. The bibliography should be provided in following sequence: Author, title of the book, edition, publisher, place of publication, year of publication. Eg: Kotler, Philip, Marketing Management, 10th Ed, Prentice Hall:NJ,2004

ANNEXURE: The following annexure are provided Schedule (if any) Financial Statements (if any) Any other supporting information

The Community Work report should be appropriately numbered. It is usual for page 1 to start with Chapter 1. The sections prior to Chapter 1 are usually numbered with small Romans, i.e. i, ii, iii. Annexure are numbered in a separate sequence (suggested a, b, c)

The suggested numbering for Tables/Charts/Graphs is to follow 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, for Tables/Charts/Graphs in Chapter 1 & 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, for Tables/Charts/Graphs in Chapter 2 & so on. The student should ensure that every Tables/Charts/Graphs should have a number & name.

The Community Work should be typed on A4 Executive White Bond paper 1.5 Line spaced

Font to be used is Times New Roman Center Align Text to be used, for Sub Headings font size of 12 Bold No Caps & Left Align Text to be used

Font size of 12 to be used for Text, for the Main Headings font size of 14 Bold Caps &

The Left Margin should not be less than 1.5 inches and the Right/Top/Bottom Margin not

less than 1 inches


The Page number should be placed at the centre of the bottom of the page, not less than

0.5 inches above the edge


One Spiral Bound copy & a Soft copy of complete report beginning from title page in

Word 97 2003 Document bearing respective students register number as document name should be handed to the Department

PLAGIARISM Any attempt to copy from another (present or previous) student or to copy large chunks of information from academic or other sources without appropriately referencing those sources will trigger the full weight of plagiarism procedures. College/University will initiate appropriate action.
