1. Social and Environmental Assessment Framework for Entire Bundelkhand Area of Uttar Pradesh: A Social and Environmental Assessment (SEA) Framework for entire Bundelkhand Area of Uttar Pradesh is to be carried out as part of the UPWSRP Phase-II to help address socio-economic, environmental, institutional and policy issues in the development of water and related sectors in the Bundelkhand area of Uttar Pradesh. The major objectives of the project area are: a) to identify environmental, social and socio-economic issues; b) to identify potential impacts (both positive and negative) of the proposed investments under Phase II; c) to provide relevant mitigation measures to contain/minimize/reverse the potential negative impacts of the project investments as well as replicate/upscale/intensify the potential positive impacts; d) to prepare a Social and Environmental Management Framework (SEMF) that will guide implementers at various levels to mainstream environmental and social issues; and e) develop appropriate recommendations for sustainable utilization of water resources by integrating environmental and social concerns in water sector planning and management

April, 2011 to June, 2011 4. Feasibility Study for Management of Electronic Waste, Sultanate of Oman: The project carried out in the Sultanate of Oman. The scope of work entails the development of a comprehensive E-waste management strategy in Oman by identifying environmentally sound and commercially viable technologies for collection, segregation, transportation, treatment, recovery and/ or recycle and disposal of E-wastes through the active involvement of the private sector by assessing the extent of establishing public-private partnerships and working on global benchmarking and good practices to draw new insights and actionable recommendations from a local and global context.

Role and Responsibility: Responsible for data collection, Site visits, data analysis and preparation of Primary Survey Report for Dhofar Region (Salalah, Sedah, Mirwat, Taqah, Raysut & Thumrait), Wusta Region (Haimah), Dakhliya Region (Adam), AlSharqiyah Region (Al Mudaibi, Sinaw, Sur and Ibra), Al-Batinah Region (ArRustaq and Sohar) and Dhahira Region (Ibri). March, 2011 to April 2011 5. Impact Assessment of Farmers Participatory Action Research Programme (FRARP), India: The project covers about 5000 Farmers Participatory Action Research Program initiated by 60 institutes in 357 districts of 25 States of India. Major objectives of this assignment are to assume full responsibility for impact assessment of the above mentioned programmes of Ministry of Water Resources (MoWR); to assess the benefits accrued out of FPARP; to assess the technologies used in the FPARP and; to recommend action plan for scale up of technologies. In order to meet the above objectives, MoWR has formulated the scope of work includes; (i) to analyse the data, agro - climatic zone-wise; (ii) to verify ground reality of the impact of the programmes implemented under Farmers Participatory Action Research Programme; (iii) to study pre and post economic conditions of the villages/ farmers benefitted by the Programmes; (iv) to get the feedback from the farmers benefitted by the Programmes; (v) to carry out comparative study of the technologies adopted in different Programmes and make recommendations for their scaling up , agro-climatic zone-wise and; (vi) to suggest Action Plan for replication of the best technologies zone-wise. Role and Responsibility: Responsible for all activities like data collection, Site visits, data analysis, contribution in preparation of interim report & final report and coordination with FRARP officers for the states of Uttar Pradesh. May, 2010 to January, 2011 6. Environmental Master Plan (EMP) for state of Himachal Pradesh, India: The following tasks to be carried out for preparation EMP such as Identification of different eco-zones with specific environment attributes, Preparation of a detailed resource inventories covering all environment parameters, Inventorization of needs of different sections of the population, Trend analysis of cumulative environment degradation, Vulnerability assessment in the context of air, water and land, to establish differential development zones, Documentation of potential threats and new development policies, Formulation of appropriate development criteria for optimization of resource use, Establishing inter linkages between different sectors and points of integration between them, Preparation of sectoral guidelines to mainstream environment parameters in development activities, Forecasting for externalities and planning for corrective measures such as those arising from climatic changes and Finalization of a comprehensive integrated EMP. Role and Responsibility: Collection of secondary data, Data Analysis, Identification of environmental issues and preparation of baseline report for different sectors. It has been undertaken of Uttar Pradesh Water Sector Restructuring Project (UPWSRP), Department of Irrigation Government of Uttar Pradesh, which is funded by World Bank.
