Let's take a look at one of God's rules to see if He gives them to us for our own good.

One of God's commandments is "Thou shall not commit adultery." What could possibly happen to a person's family that has disobeyed this commandment? Let's take a look:
Mike is a married business man. He is the father of an adorable five year old son and another baby on the way. Mike begins laying eyes on Tammy, an attractive blonde that has just started as his secretary. Mike does care for His wife and is very excited about his unborn baby, but he just can't seem to take his eyes off of Tammy. He begins to wonder what it would be like to be with someone else just for one time. Mike knows that the Bible says its not the right thing to do, but Satan keeps whispering in his ear "no one will ever know, you have a right to do what you want". Mike quickly gives way to his lustful feelings towards Tammy as he listens to Satan's lies and chooses to ignore the Bible. Mike calls his pregnant wife and lies to her, telling her he will be home late that night. Immediately after work Mike and Tammy go to a nearby motel to spend the evening together. Mike does not know Tammy has contently forgotten to tell him that she is infected with the aids virus. Tammy believes that she has a right to do whatever she pleases. Tammy knows she's going to die anyway, so why can't she live the rest of her life to the fullest? What was the result of Mike rejecting God's command;"Thou shall not commit adultery?" This one short fantasy, which only lasted a short evening, ended up destroying Mike's entire future. This lustful act caused death and separation to his family. Unknowingly, Mike carried the aids virus home to his pregnant wife who gave it to the unborn child. After being diagnosed with aids, Mike's secret came out and his wife, horribly devastated, decided to separate from him. Separation and death happened in Mike and his family's life because he chose to ignore the Bible and go his own way. Not only did Mike suffer for his sin, but his innocent wife and unborn child also will suffer. His five year old son will eventually become an orphan.

UIOG Related Beatitude Blessed are the pure in hearts, for they shall see God. = Having purified our souls and hearts, refraining from evil desires, and wanting only to give love and do good things, we are ready to be very close friends with God. This verse, to me, is dualistic. It means that those who have become pure in heart will live this life and then shall behold the face of God stand in his presence, and feel fully confidence and faith that they belong with Him. It also means that those who have pure hearts (virtuous feelings and intentions coupled with childlike faith) will perceive God's presence and influence over everything they see in this life God is everywhere for the pure in heart, and, though still alive, they are already in heaven.
