Two years ago the Faculty of Creative Arts and Computing were merged.

The

principal Brian Lister OBE wants a website to showcase the work and achievements of the new faculty. Your task is to collect the digital images that will feature in the Website. The scope of the faculty includes Computing, Music, Television, Art and Design and Photography. Your images should reflect the dynamic nature of the work involved in these areas. Acquiring images which convey this will be crucial to the success of the overall design of the site.

Part One:
F1KW 11: Outcome 1 (Identify and plan the acquisition of digital still images to meet the requirements of the brief) You are required to write a two-part report of at least 450 words. The first part must contain a list of: the types of images required, list of possible sources for acquiring the images, statement of the strategies for acquiring images, copyright status for each proposed image along with remedial action (where required).

Part Two:
F1KW 11: Outcomes 2 (Undertake the acquisition of digital still images for a specified brief) & 3 (Select, edit and present a portfolio of digital images in a format appropriate to a specified brief) During this phase you are required to obtain your raw images. You have been granted access to all of the departments within the faculty however you must as a matter of courtesy obtain the permission of any tutor whose classes you visit to take photographs or make recordings and you must get any necessary consent forms signed before publishing your photographs. During this process you must maintain a log which should contain: All activities undertaken in the acquisition of images All problems encountered and the steps taken to solve them (if no problems are encountered then this should be logged by the candidate) A list of all images acquired with their assigned labels and storage location(s)

A list of the images selected for the portfolio with a statement of copyright status for each with a justification for selection

A printout showing the before and after, with annotation for at least five digital still images that have been edited.

Part Three:
F1KW 11: Outcomes 4 (Evaluate the completed portfolio of digital images and personal contribution to meeting a specified brief.) You must produce a report of at least 150 words which is an evaluation of the digital stills portfolio and your personal contribution to the final product in terms of what you chose to do, how well you performed in completing the activities and how well you think you performed in meeting the requirements of the brief.
