Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) 1.) Can you tell me about Common Entrance Test (CET)? Ans.

) CDAC, Hyderabad is conducting a single CET for admission into the three courses DESD/DSSD/DABC- that are offered at the selected centers through out India. This is common for all the three courses. At the time of registration for CET, candidate has to give his preferential choice of course and training center combination. 2.) What is the eligibility for admission? Ans.) Eligibility for DABC and DSSD Course: An Engineering Degree (UG/PG) in Electronics / Electrical / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Instrumentation / Computer Science & Engineering / Computer Engineering / Information Technology or MCA or M.Sc Computers with higher second class (55% and above) in the final degree Eligibility for DESD Course: Engineering Degree (UG/PG) in Electronics / Electrical / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Instrumentation / Computer Science & Engineering / Computer Engineering / Information Technology or M.Sc Electronics / Instrumentation with higher second class (55% and above) in the final degree 3.) Is the candidate with MCA degree eligible for DESD? Ans.) No. He is eligible for Diploma in System Software Development (DSSD) and Diploma in Advanced Computing (DABC) 4.) What is the selection process? Ans.) Selection will be on the basis of performance in the CET, the preferences of course and the Centre for admission opted by the applicants. The applicant's academic record will also be taken into consideration. i.e. Your candidature will be considered in accordance with the choice of the COURSE and TRAINING CENTRE combination you have indicated in the order of preference based on your performance in the CET and the number of seats available at the respective training centres. 5.)Is the Entrance test common for all the three courses? Ans.) Yes. The Entrance Test is common for admission into all the three courses-DESD/DSSD/DABC, which are offered at the selected centers through out India. Before filling the on-line application form, the candidate must ensure that - he/she met the eligibility criteria -the registration fee of Rs.350 /- is paid by way of either NEFT or DD., - scanned photograph of the candidate in .jpg/.jpeg format is ready . Please keep the above details along with academic details ready before filling the on-line application. 8.) In which format the scanned photograph should be? Ans.) Scanned photograph should be in the format of the .jpg /.jpeg 9.)What should be the size (kb) and resolution (pixel/inch) of the scanned photograph ? Ans.) The size of the photograph should be less than 50 kb. Resolution of the scanned photo should be in the range of 200-300 dpi (pixel/inch) in the setting of scanner. If there is any problem in scanning the photograph, candidate can take the help of the concerned person in the cyber caf 10.) Can a candidate do multiple registrations? Ans.) No. Candidate is required to do only one registration for the course. In case the candidate does multiple registrations his/her candidature will be summarily rejected at any stage of the selection process. 11.) What is the next step after finishing online registration ? Ans.) After completion of the on-line registration for CET, candidates are requested to write their Name, e-mail ID, mobile number and correspondence address on the back of either the NEFT Receipt issued by the bank or Demand Draft (DD) Candidates have to send this either original NEFT Receipt or DD along with the printout of filled- in online application to the address given below: The CET Coordinator, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) #1, Shiv Bhag, Ameerpet, Hyderabad-500 016. 12.)WWhat should candidate write on back-side of the either original NEFT Receipt or Print-out of Internet banking or DD for registration?

13.)When the form no. will be provided to the candidate? Ans.) Upon receiving either NEFT receipt (original) or Print-out of internet banking or DD from the candidate, the same will be verified against the details entered in the online Personal Profile/application form and an admit card will be issued online. Admit card contains Form Number and CET centre address 14.) How can candidate get admit card? Ans.) The candidate has to down load the Admit Card from www.cdachyd.in and get the printout of the same. 1. DESD CET exam is a written/objective type exam. It is not an on-line exam. There is no negative marking. 17.) What is the fee for the course? Can I pay the same in installments? Ans.) IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE APPLICANTS OF CET

IMPORTANT CDAC, Hyderabad is conducting a single National Level Entrance Test for admission into any of the following courses at the selected Training Centres throughout India. Diploma in Embedded Systems Design (DESD)

Diploma is System Software Design (DSSD) Diploma in Advanced Business Computing (DABC) C-DAC, Hyderabad as a National Resource Center for Embedded Systems Design, System Software and Business Computing training programmes is spearheading the DESD/DSSD/DABC activities. C-DAC, Hyderabad offers a choice of a course (DESD or DSSD or DABC) and also a Training Centre for admission through the performance in National Level Common Entrance Test (CET).

Instructions for filling in the Online Application Form


Before you make any entries in the Online Application Form, read all the instructions carefully and strictly follow them while filling in the form.

General Instructions

You must fill-in in the Online Application Form completely. Incomplete application forms will be summarily rejected.

Providing false information will lead to cancellation of candidature or termination of the training at any stage of training.

C-DACs decision regarding the admission shall be final and binding on all candidates and no appeal shall be considered in the form of verification or revaluation of test results. Candidate must ensure that he/she is fulfilling the eligibility criteria. The certificates will verified for eligibility on the first day of course commencement at the training centre at which you got admission. If it is found that the eligibility criteria are not met, the admission will be cancelled.

The CET registration fee of Rs.350/- (rupees three hundred fifty only) by way of National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) or by way of Demand Draft(DD) drawn in favor of C-DAC Hyd- Training payable at Hyderabad should reach on or before the last date of submission of online application form. The entrance test registration fee shall not be refunded under any circumstances. The Form Number will be communicated to the applicant through email on receipt of the registration fee. In case the applicant does not receive the form number along with Admit Card even after 15 days dispatch of your fee (NEFT or DD), they may contact C-DAC, Hyderabad for the information regarding the same. Applicant must have 55% and above in final degree. You have to appear for the Entrance Test on 6th February 2011. You are requested to report at the examination Centre specified in your Admit Card. While coming to the Examination Centre, you are required to bring the following with you: Admit Card bearing the Form Number and Entrance Test Centre address duly signed by you. Black / Blue ink pen or Ball pen to fill-in the answer sheet.

Please fill-in the name of the city in the online application form where you would like to appear for the Entrance Test. Complete address of the venue of entrance test will be provided in the admit card.

Please note that

C-DAC shall entertain no request for change in the schedule or Centre of the CET. No entry to the examination hall shall be permitted unless the applicant produces the Admit Card bearing the Form Number.

Preferential choice of COURSE and

TRAINING CENTRE for Admission

At the time of registration, you should give your Preferential Choice(s) of COURSE and TRAINING CENTRE combination. Each Preferential Choice consists Course Name and Training Center at which the course mentioned in the choice is offered.

e.g i) DABC-Hyderabad Interpretation: DABC refers COURSE choice; Hyderabad refers TRAINING CENTRE choice e.g ii) DESD-Chennai Interpretation: DESD refers COURSE choice; Chennai refers TRAINING CENTRE choice

Your request will be considered in accordance with the choice of the COURSE and TRAINING CENTRE combination you have indicated in the order of preference based on your performance in the CET and the no. of seats available at the respective training centres. Guidelines for making Payment of CET registration FEE

The CET registration FEE Rs.350/- can be paid by: Option I: Through NEFT (National Electronic Funds Transfer). (Or)

Option II: By Demand Draft (DD)

Option I:

National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) is a nation-wide system that facilitates individuals, firms and corporate to electronically transfer funds from any bank branch to any individual, firm or corporate having an account with any other bank branch in the country. Paying CET registration fee through NEFT by any Bank: i) Fill the NEFT challan/form, of the bank you have chosen, to pay fee as follows:

- Name of the Account - Account Number - Bank Name with Branch - IFSC Code

: C-DAC Hyd-Training : 8629 1011 000 3806 : BANK OF INDIA, Ameerpet Branch : BKID 000 8629

ii) Make payment of Rs.350/-(Rupees Three hundred fifty only).

iii) Collect NEFT transaction slip from the bank. Please check in the slip such as UTR No., IFSC Code of the Remitting Branch, Name of the Remitting Bank, City, Deposit Date, Amount etc., and C-DAC account details should also be mentioned in the transaction slip. If there is some error then and there itself verify with bank and get it rectified immediately. While making the payment through NEFT kindly tell the Bank to write the name of candidate in the Bank particulars column. If no name is mentioned and amount is transferred then amount will not be refunded under any circumstances nor will it be considered as received from the candidate.

iv) NEFT Payment can also be made from any account where the candidate has the facility of internet banking. While making the payment through NEFT i.e., internet Banking kindly write the name of candidate in the Bank particulars column. Once the amount is paid from the account take the print out of the transaction slip of the payment which would have reference number and send it to us along with application form. If no name is mentioned and amount is transferred then amount will not be refunded under any circumstances nor will it be considered as received from the candidate.

Direct cash deposit into the account is NOT accepted. If cash is directly deposited to the account by not opting any of the above mentioned process no refund will be entertained under any circumstances.

vi) Log on to CDAC Hyderabad website www.cdachyd.in and update the fee payment (NEFT) details such as UTR number, name of the bank etc. in the online application form.

vii) After completion of the on-line registration for CET, candidates are requested to write their Name, e-mail ID, mobile number and correspondence address on the back of the NEFT Transaction slip issued by the bank.

vi) Candidates must and should send the original NEFT Transaction slip along with the printout of filled- in online application to the address given below on or before 29th January 2011 To The CET Coordinator Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) #1 Shivabagh, Ameerpet, Hyderabad 500 016. The Demand Draft of Rs.350/- (Rupees Three hundred fifty only) should be drawn on any Bank in favor of C-DAC Hyd-Training payable at Hyderabad. Log on to CDAC Hyderabad website www.cdachyd.in and update the fee payment such as Demand Draft number, Name of the bank etc. details in the online application form. Please write your Name, Email-id, Mobile Number and Correspondence address on the back side of the DD.

Candidate must send the DD along with the printout of filled-in Online Application to the address given below on or before 29th January 2011.

Instructions for photo uploading

Please use a scanned Passport size photograph for uploading . Resolution of the scanned photograph must be in the range of 200-300 dpi(pixels/inch). . Format of the scanned photograph must be either .jpg or .jpeg. Size of photo to be uploaded must be less than 50KB. Please Upload your photograph on or before 29th January 2011. Please select scanned photograph present on your system with the help of 'Browse' button. The selected photograph can be uploaded in the space allocated, by using the 'Browse' button for selecting and 'Upload' button for uploading. After verification of the uploaded photograph, in case the candidate wants to replace the photograph, he may do so by using 'Submit Later' button. Candidate may use the 'Submit Now' button for final submission. After final submission, the candidate will not be able to make any more corrections.

How to download Admit Cards

Upon receiving either NEFT receipt (original) or DD from the candidate, the same will be verified against the details entered in the online Personal Profile/application form and an admit card will be issued online. Admit card contains Form Number and CET centre address.

The candidate has to down load the Admit Card from www.cdachyd.in and get the printout of the same. 1. 2. 3. 4.
