Abstract:
The design and implementation of a buck-boost single-phase
Z-Source DC-AC inverter applied at photovoltaic energy
conversion system with maximum power point tracking is
proposed in this project. This power stage circuit is composed of
solar panels and a buck-boost single-phase Z-Source DC-AC
inverter. The DC bus voltage is boosted advantageous by
controlling the short and non-short mode of power stage circuit
for implementing the buck-boost inverter. The proposed system
can be operated in grid-connected mode and in the stand-alone
mode. In the mode of grid-connected, the voltage-fed inverter is
controlled by the current-control mode that can regulate the
output current to follow the maximum power point tracking of the
solar panels. The solar energy can be feed back to the utility
system with a unit power factor and low harmonics sinusoidal
wave current. And in the mode of stand-alone, the voltage-fed
inverter is controlled by the voltage-control mode and a hysteresis
controller of capacitor current is adopted to obtain an 110V/60Hz
sinusoidal wave voltage output.
