jobs as a direct result of their performance on
this and other live projects.
The process
With your fellow students, you form a small
multi-cultural team and consider a list of
project briefs from a host of client organisations.
Your team then competes against other student
groups to secure one of these projects. You
will outline to your prospective client how you
intend to timetable the project, provide budget
estimates and explain why your team is best
suited to undertake the work. The client company
then makes the decision about which team to
appoint. Along with an academic member of
staff who acts as your supervisor, you will work
closely with the client organisation - effectively
as a team of dedicated consultants.
The first client briefing is critical - this is where
your team absorbs additional information
about the client’s products, its organisational
structure and key variables in its industry
sector. At this stage, the context, scope and
budgetary constraints are formalised.
Following your initial research an interim
presentation is arranged to assess progress,
highlight salient issues and agree on subsequent
actions before your team departs for the
international stage of the project.
At the end of the project you make a final
presentation to academics and company
representatives and produce a comprehensive
final report. Typically you’ll have delivered over
2,000 hours of intensive work for your client.

countryside. The Lake District, Yorkshire Dales,
Peak District, Fylde Coast and North Wales are
all within an hour or two’s drive.

our power to make your partner and children
settle in to their new environment. Our
Partner’s Club runs events throughout the year
and we have a dedicated representative who

MBA students have their own dedicated
building, which is accessible 24 hours a day,
7 days a week. As well as first-class academic
facilities, the School incorporates a hotel,
