Quick Guide for Vedic Marriage Match

(Compiled from writings of several renowned Authors)

For one Horoscope only: 1 Suppose the lord of the 7th is the enemy of the lord of lagna, it then means that the partner is the native's enemy.

Planets in the7th bhava of the Navamsa should not be inimical to the planet occupying the Rasi Lagna, If so, there will be troubles and differences etc., from such significations in the life of the native. This indicates the will of Sri Narayana for such a marriage in the life of the native.

For eg. Ketu is inimical to Rahu. Therefore, Rahu's presence in Rasi lagna and Ketu's presence in the 7th house in Navamsa chart will indicate trouble in the marriage from Ketu related/signified problems like nagging, ill health, confused spouse etc. Similarly, if the Rasi lagna lord and Navamsa 7th lord have good temporal relationship the spouse relationship to will be good. 12th of Navmansh is the house of loss and denial. If the Karaka Venus is placed in this house then marriage is denied or there will be many problems in married life. For example the AL in D-9 will show the type of spouse you will be thought to be. Are you seen to be a good husband or wife or are you seen as being authoritarian. Thus, if the darapada is in a dusthana (6th, 8th & 12th) from the Arudha lagna the physical relations with wife will either be negligible or not be there. This is also not good for business stability.

If the darapada is in the 3rd/ 11th from Arudha lagna, there will be cordial physical relations with spouse but poor business prospects If the darapada is in a quadrant or trine from the Arudha lagna, SRIMANTAH YOGA results. A couple could stay married long because of the strength of the Upapada and still sleep apart because of the darapada. The main indicators of marriage are Libra and its lord, as far as men are concerned. In a man's chart, we have to consider Libra and the 7th from the ascendant, Sun and Venus. The chief indicators of marriage for a woman are Aries and Mars and also Jupiter. The second marriage is seen from the eighth house from the seventh i.e. second house and the eighth house from upapada. Similarly, the third marriage is seen from the eighth house from second i.e. 9th house and the third house from upapada and so on.

The eighth houses from these govern the sex life; Therefore Scorpio for men and Taurus for women have to be added to the list. The extra-marital life is determined by the twelfth house from the ascendant in a man's chart, Pisces too needs scrutiny while in a woman's Virgo too deserves a study. But what is needed is to find out the strongest among the ascendant, Sun and Venus in a man's chart and among the ascendant, Moon and Mars in a woman's. If the darapada (A7) itself is in a dusthana from Arudha lagna, the contact with the opposite sex will be difficult and all other yogas will remain in the form of frustration (sexual) or desires. The darapada (A7) in the eleventh house with Rahu in it show sexual abuse.

The fundamental requirements for marriage match of two charts: 1 Moon sign in mutual Kendra is most preferred.

2 3

See how the lords of 1 and 7 are mutually situated and see their mutual cordiality etc If they are in 6, 8 and, 12 (mutually) they (couple) differ. In such case the destiny drives the native to join a similar partner with any amount of careful comparison of the two horoscopes.

Even if they are natural enemies if they are posited together or mutually aspecting each other they live together even with differences of opinion. Compare the Lagna lord of one chart with the 7th lord of the other chart, and vice versa, they should be in mutual Kendras or trines for a happy married life. Apply this rule also from the signs occupied by the Moon in the charts.

The owner of the sign occupied by lagna lord is to be compared with the owner of the sign occupied by the 7th lord of the other. Apply this rule also from the sign occupied by Venus in the two charts. The Lagna of one chart is to be compared with the position of the 9th lord in the other. The position of the 5th lord in the male chart is to be compared with that of the 9th lord in the girl's chart.

Lagna lord of one is to be compared with the 7th lord of the other and vice versa. The positions of the lords of Lagna in the two charts are to be examined in mutual relations.

10

11

Compare the Moon-sign of one with that of Mars in the other, and the sign of Mars in one with that of the Moon in the other.

12

Similarly, compare the Sun of one with that of Venus in the other, and vice versa. Also compare the sign occupied by the Sun with that of Jupiter in the other, and vice versa. Compare the positions of the Moon in the two charts. If the Moonsigns of the two are in the houses of Saturn, the girl's Moon is in the 2nd (Aquarius). If these are in mutual Kendras, Konas or sextile (3-11), it is a plus point. If they are in 2-12 or 6-8 relations, it is minus point. The plus points should be more for recommending the match. If the lord of the 7th Bhav or its cuspal star-lord is the Birth Yogi of the other or is in the star of the birth Yogi of the other, happy match. If the Birth Yogi of the other aspects the natives lagn-Good.

In addition, we have some more rules. 16 17 Consider the longevity in the two charts; who has a longer life is to be determined. The positions from Lagna occupied by the 7th and the 8th lords have to be considered in the two charts separately. Note whether Mars, Saturn, Kahu or Uranus are in the 7th or 8th houses of the two charts. After delineating the various Vargas in the 3rd chapter of Parashara Hora the sage has stated: Navamamse kalatranam (verse 105). From the Navamsha chart we have to interpret everything about the partner.

18

Thus we have to compare the Rasi chart of one with the Navamsa chart of the other, and vice versa. There should be a broad agreement between the two. Sometimes the people deliberately or otherwise deny having the chart of the boy or girl. In such a case, the available Rasi and Navamsa charts of one person need a close comparison. These are some of the rules we have applied in actual experience: 19 Kuja (Mars) in 2, 7 or 8 of the girl's chart has to be neutralized by Mars in 2, 7 or 8 of the boy's chart. Moreover, much importance

need not be attached to the Kutas, though some of these are really valuable like Nadi and Rajju. 20 Guru in the seventh or aspecting the ruler of the seventh may indicate the death of the partner and a second marriage. Trouble in marriage or sex relation is shown by afflicted Mina 15o, Karka 26o, Kanya 2o and 15o, Simha 4o, Makar 26o and Kumbha 4o. As Ketu owns Vrischika, Ketu also functions like Kuja in marital affairs. Kuja dosha may have to be extended to Ketu also. Vivaha Varnamala states that Mars in the houses of Mercury or Saturn causes maximum Dosha, in the house of Saturn he is three quarters malefic; in Jupiters houses, he is a half malefic; and in his own houses he is one-fourths malefic.

Timing by Vimshotari 1 The dasas and antar dasas of the lords of the 7th, the 2nd and 4th houses, the period of Venus, the periods of planets posited in the 2nd, the 4th and the 7th, and the period of the planet having the lowest number of degrees in any house.

2 3

The Vimsottari dasa planet should associate with the navamsa lagna, or have argala on it or remove malefic argala on it. The Vimsottari antar dasa planet should associate with the seventh lord from navamsa lagna, or have argali on it or remove malefic argala on it.

4 5

The Vimsottari pratyantar dasa planet should be in trines to the seventh house, or its lord or Venus. The pratyantar dasa will normally be of a planet in trines to the seventh house in the navamsa or one of the lords of the Kama trikona.

The transit of Jupiter should have some contact with the second house from upapada by rasi dristi at least. The transit of the Sun could be in trines to the Rasi or navamsa of the seventh lord. "Whenever Rahu becomes the Chara Dara Karaka it gives very sudden unconventional marriages, especially if placed in the quadrants. The pratyantar dasa will normally be of a planet in trines to the seventh house in the navamsa or one of the lords of the Kama trikona. However, by this method of Vimsottari dasa it is possible to shortlist many periods within the marriageable age and still one cannot be sure if the marriage is occurring at all. By using Narayana Dasas a fairly accurate time can be indicated.

Timing by Narayana Dasas 1 Marriage is precisely timed by the use of Narayana Dasa of the D9 or Navamsa The transit of Jupiter over the seventh house, the seventh lord or the Navamsa of the -, 7th lord can give marriage. The transit of Jupiter or its aspect (by Rasi Dristi) on the second from UL can give marriage. Simultaneously, the second lord from Upapada should be strong in transit. Dasas of the 1st, 3rd and 8th houses from upapada (UL as in D9) are also favorable for marriage. On the other hand, dasas of 6th house from lagna of D9, dasas of the 2nd and 7th houses from UL (in D9) can bring troubles in marriage and even a divorce when the chart has such indications. Because UL shows marriage, the 1st, 3rd and 8th houses from it show its birth, vitality and life (longevity). The 2nd and 7th houses from it show its end.

2 3

Using Narayana Dasa of the D9 or Navamsa. The rasi conjoining or aspecting (rashi dristhi) U L can give marriage during its dasa/AD The rasi conjoined/aspected by Venus/Moon/Ketu can give marriage during its dasa/AD The rasi conjoined/aspected by Darakaraka too can give marriage during its dasa/AD. And the ideal time for marriage is when Jupiter aspects the 2nd house from the UL in the Rasi chart. The rasi conjoining (UL) can give marriage during its dasa/AD. The rasi aspecting (rasi drishti) UL can give marriage during its dasa/AD. Planets in 1,3,7,9 give results in later age.
