This lesson is appropriate for grades 5-6. The purpose of the activity is for student
to understand concept of ecological niche while simultaneously learning about
more about potential careers in their own community. The tools would include note
taking, power point creation for the class, group work and research for slide
information. Acceptable performance would be completing group assignment,
presentation of their data and ability to identify 80% of the animals presented in
class by their niches. This is based on Information acquisition. The student
Instructional evaluates the acquired electronic information. The student is expected to: (A)
Objective(s) determine and employ methods to evaluate the animals and their living habits
accurately and show its validity in the poster assignment; (B) resolve information
conflicts and validate information through accessing, researching, and comparing
data given by teacher and with other students; and (C) demonstrate the ability to
identify the source, location, media resources, relevancy, and content validity of
available information.
This is a subject-specific in the area of science and is not a technology-driven
assignment however game technology functions only when facts are applied.

Appropriate for grades 4nd to 6th. Activity allows students to understand concepts of
ecological niches while learning about niches of careers in their world and
community. By taking notes during teacher presentation allows students to study
and identify animals by creating a power point presentation to test the class, and
participating according to their niche. A power point project requires research for
all students to create it and to tests others in topics of habitat, vocabulary and
Assessment relationship. This is not a technology driven assignment but technology functions
based on student research. This assignment would provide a foundation in
science concepts. The student knows that living organisms have basic needs. The
student is expected to identify basic needs of living organisms; give examples of
how living organisms depend on each other for data and their group score. The
concept is that students can begin to identify ways that the Earth can provide
resources for life just as careers in society do.
