BISHOPS COLLECTION FOR THE NEEDS OF THE CHURCH IN CANADA

Today Catholic communities across our country are involved in the annual collection which supports the pastoral work of our Bishops nationally and internationally the Bishops Collection for the Needs of the Church in Canada. It is in the interest of all the Church in Canada for this Collection to be as effective as possible. The Church needs to maintain its services in order to carry out its mission at the heart of our world, by responding to pastoral needs and providing spiritual leadership. Founded more that sixty-six years ago, the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops is the assembly of all the Catholic Bishops of our country, including the Bishops of the Eastern Catholic Churches. The Conference is the forum where our Bishops discuss their ministry, the life of the Church and the major issues of the day. In addition to assisting the Bishops in their collaborative relationship with Pope Benedict XVI and the various offices of the Holy See, the CCCB works closely with other Episcopal Conferences around the world, and in particular with those in the Americas. The Bishops of Canada thank you in advance for your charity, for your commitment to the Church, and to your generosity in following Christ.
