GOLF YOUR WAY THROUGH CHINA THE LUXURY

WAY

This is a golfers dream: play some of the best courses around and get to
know China, the new and upcoming world power.

HONG KONG

This is where you start, two nights and one golf course.

http://www.discoverhongkong.com/eng/index.jsp
http://www.lonelyplanet.com/worldguide/china/hong-kong

As a tourist destination, Hong Kong has much to offer. Sensational shopping,

fabulous food, diverse sightseeing and a rich cultural heritage, to name just a
few. You can experience each of these facets of Hong Kong while you’re
here.
What makes Hong Kong so fascinating is the way its local culture and
heritage are inextricably woven into the fabric of life. Hong Kong is a
remarkable synthesis of seeming opposites – alleyway market stalls and
state-of-the-art shopping complexes; historic trams and a high-tech subway
system; bobbing sampans and luxury yachts; low-cost housing alongside with
most expensive real estate in the world. Cliché that it is, Hong Kong is the
very essence of the marriage of East an West, uniting Western technological
competence with the support of an Eastern civilization that dates back
thousands of years.

So we will take you up in a helicopter and fly you around this gorgeous and
exciting Hong Kong, so you get a good idea of its features, geography and
how close it really is to the PRC.

Of course Hong Kong is one big shopping mall, so you need to go on an

unequalled spree.

Clear Water Bay Golf and Country Club

http://www.cwbgolf.org/public/index.aspx

The gorgeous Clear Water Bay Golf and Country Club has been conceived by
keen members of the Hong Kong Golf Club and is located in the outskirts of
Hong Kong along the Saikung Peninsula where they usually anchored their
boats. The trip takes about 45 minutes drive over the new bridges and new
settlements but it is worth, Clearwater Bay being blessed by a stunning
environment removed from the hustle and bustle of the Hong Kong's city life.

It is said that it has a touch of Pebble Beach or Cypress Point. In fact, the 18-
hole course takes advantage of a rugged natural landscape which offers
breathtaking views of mountains and sea.
It is also said that the Ocean Nine has the reputation of being "perhaps" the
most beautiful nine in the world. Let's say they are exciting and challenging.
The back nine called Highland requires accuracy in all shots for successful
score. But wind forms a major element at any hole. Number 14 is the
signature hole and has been ranked in the 500 best holes in the world and
the 24th in Asia. In the elegant club-house, the Horizons restaurant overlooks
course and landscape. Visitors are welcome on weekdays but on weekends,
guests are only allowed when signed in by a member.

Now on to Macao, for one night.

MACAO
Now you take the helicopter to Macao where you will spend one night.
http://www.macautourism.gov.mo/

Macau, originally a small fishing village in southern China had been colonized
by Portuguese in the early 1550s and tuned it into a major entrepot for trade
between China, Japan, India & Europe. It also became the perfect crossroad
for the meeting of East and West cultures. Macau also served as a stepping
stone for the spreading of Christianity in China. Churches and fortresses
were built and gave the city on historical European appearance that
distinguishes it to this day.

Today Macau is a Special Administrative Region of China, benefits from the

principle of “one country, two systems”. This tiny city is growing in size – with
more building on reclaimed land – and in the number and diversity of
attractions. The greatest of these continues to be Macau’s unique society,
with communities from the East & West complementing each other, and the
many people who come to visit.
Macau Golf and Country Club
http://www.macaugolfandcountryclub.com/

With only one course currently available, Macau golf is still a work in
progress. The singular choice is the Macau Golf and Country Club, located on
Coloane Island, just 15 minutes away from the Macau Ferry Terminal and ten
minutes away from the Macau International Airport. The Club has been
meticulously planned to combine a resort ambience with an 18-hole
championship golf course, superb amenities, first-class international
management, attentive service, excellent food, and a vast array of activities

Sea. Multiple varieties of trees, shrubs and natural vegetation add seasonal
color to the verdant splendor of this Macau golf course, offering a great
Macau vacation experience for every golfer, regardless of the score. This
course hosts the Macau Open, a popular stop on the Asian PGA Tour, so you
can be assured that the design, playing conditions and golf experience are
top notch. After an enjoyable round of golf, Macau vacationers will appreciate

We have two hotels for you in Macau. If you wish to gamble,

2) Pousada de Sao Tiago http://www.saotiago.com.mo/main_e.html

Romantic and intriguing, Macau has retained the historic beauty of the Orient

- a timeless quality searched for by travellers from both near and far. The

Fortaleza da Barra was one of the fortresses built in the 17th century by the

Portuguese to defend Macau against hostile European nations and local

pirates. One hundred years later a chapel was built within its walls and

dedicated to Saint James, the patron saint of the Portuguese garrison. Today,

much of the fortress and the Chapel have been preserved as part of the

Pousada de São Tiago Hotel features with 12 suites.

Through cool, stone archways, with water cascading from the walls of history,

guests enter the elegant lobby, and can look down upon the Os Gatos

Lounge, a restaurant dedicated to the allure and cuisine of sun-drenched

lands. The name of this Macau hotel restaurant (Portuguese for "The Cats"),

comes from the title of a book by the renowned Portuguese literary figure

Fialho de Almeida. In the book, Almeida states that "Portuguese is the most

refined, most voluptuous, most succulent cuisine in the world". Os Gatos lives
up to the promise, presenting a menu of exquisite specialties from Macau,

Portugal, Spain, Provence, Italy and Greece, in a setting that is simply

unparalleled in the entire territory.

Start in Mission Hills, Shenzhen, just over the border from Hong Kong,. Where
you will stay for two nights.

SHENZHEN

Shenzhen, situated just across the border from Hong Kong, is a beautiful
coastal garden city in South China. It is a city of sunshine and modernity,
where economic development keeps pace with social development, and
people live in harmony with nature.

Shenzhen which is the China's first special economic zone established via the
patronage of the late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping is a pioneering and
innovative city. It is in the vanguard of China's reforms and opening up to the
rest of the world. In its short history of 27 years, Shenzhen has developed
from a small fishing village into a modern city with a gross domestic product
(GDP) per capita which gives it premier ranking in China. This is a remarkable
achievement, notable in the annals of urbanization, industrialization and
modernization across the globe.

As Shenzhen embraces the world, concomitantly it is becoming

internationalized. As China's first special economic zone, Shenzhen began to
open up to the rest of the world in 1980, becoming one of the country's major
channels of communication with the outside world. Shenzhen has 17 sea,
land and air ports, including China's largest land passenger port and land
cargo port. In 2011, the 26th Universiade will be held here, which will make
Shenzhen the youngest city in history to host the Games.

Shenzhen is a city with deep cultural roots that sit in tandem with its creative
and modern ethos. It is said to have a history of 5,000 years, but was only
founded 27 years ago. Since its foundation, Shenzhen has created a migrant
culture and an innovative spirit of "encouraging innovation and pursuing
excellence." At the forefront of Chinese cities in promoting the use of voluntary
services, it boasts about 530,000 volunteers in various fields of activity.
Moreover, given the high level of public services offered by the city's
government departments, Shenzhen is one of China's "10 Most Welcomed
Cities for Rural Migrant Workers."

Mission Hills Golf Club, Shenzhen

http://www.missionhillsgroup.com/en/golf/courses/index.html

Is the golf industry experiencing a slowdown? Maybe in North America. But

Asia doesn't want to hear it.

Golf in Asia has benefited hugely from the continent's emergence in the
global market. Corporations from around the world are bringing their
business - and their golfing personnel - to the Far East, and world-class
luxury golf resorts are sprouting up from Vietnam to Thailand.
No country has made a bigger splash in global capitalism, or global golf, than
China. Exhibit A is the massive Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen, a half-
hour drive from Hong Kong. With 10 golf courses open and two more nearing
completion, Mission Hills is the largest golf complex in the world, according to
the Guinness Book of World Records.

The $625 million development is spread out over 15 square kilometers,

leaving plenty of room for more superlatives: the world's largest pro shop,
the world's largest outdoor kids' playground, Asia's biggest tennis complex
(51 courts). There are six driving ranges, and the main clubhouse measures
300,000 square feet.

The big numbers continue off course. The Mission Hills complex features four
spas, a 315-room five-star hotel and two luxury residential communities,
plus, not surprisingly, ample conference and function space for conventions
and business events.

Mission Hills' courses bear the imprimaturs of a dozen top designers and PGA
Tour professionals from nine countries, including China's Zhang Lian Wei. But
behind the names stands one design firm: Arizona-based Schmidt-Curley.

A recognized force in Asia golf, the firm solidified its international name with
the monumental Mission Hills project.

"Not only is Mission Hills big, the process of putting the course down on that
ground was a huge achievement," partner Brian Curley told WorldGolf.com.
"We had to move mountains, literally. It wasn't like plotting a course through
dunes."
Curley said the firm did what it could to minimize redundancy among the
property's 12 courses.

"The most obvious differences between the courses would be in the bunker
styles," he said. "The environment itself at Mission Hills, with dense jungle,
heavy trees - that's consistent from course to course. The backdrops and
frames are mostly the same.

"We try and bust it up with landscaping, different grass types, tee shapes and
bunker themes."

Mission Hills has been the site of more than 30 international tournaments,
including the 1995 World Cup of Golf and the Tiger Woods China Challenge.
The Jose Maria Olazabal course is set to host the Omega World Golf
Championships through 2018.

The Olazabal is the resort's longest course at 7,400 yards, but it's the Greg
Norman densely tree-lined and featuring a rugged look reminiscent of Royal
Melbourne in Aurstralia that has garnered a reputation as perhaps Asia's most
difficult golf course.

More player-friendly designs include the David Leadbetter, David Duval and
Annika Sorenstam courses. The Ernie Els and Jumbo Ozaki courses are
outfitted with floodlights that allow play until 2 a.m.

The final two courses, the Pete Dye and a par-3 course, are slated to open
this summer, rounding out the complex's 216 holes.

We have arranged for you to stay on in the club resort

SHANGHAI

http://www.shanghai.gov.cn/shanghai/node17256/index.html
http://www.lonelyplanet.com/worldguide/china/shanghai/

Widely regarded as the citadel of China's modern economy, the city of

Shanghai serves as one of the nation's most important cultural, commercial,
financial, industrial, and communications centers..

Sheshan Golf Club

http://www.sheshangolf.com/en/club/index.asp
Sheshan is the proud host of the HSBC Championship. 650 members enjoy
playing privileges on our private course.

The natural forestation was integrated into the course design. 10,000 trees
and natural foliage has been preserved. Two 1000 year old ginko trees grace
the 4th hole. 16 million cubic meters of dirt was moved to create elevation,
bunkers and valleys. Man made lakes along with existing streams come into
play. Sheshan golf has blended the existing environment in creating an eco
friendly course. The natural beauty will enhance the enjoyment of the game.

Nelson&Haworth have designed the golf course at Shanghai Sheshan to be

one of the most hilly and forested golf course in the Shanghai region. The
design concept called for moving millions cubic meters of earth to create this
unique golfing environment. Elevation changes of over 12 meters are found
on several holes, with the most dramatic being hole No. 8. These rolling hills
are covered with forests, both pine and deciduous to give the golfer the
feeling of playing in a forest. Each hole is separate from the next so no
golfers will see each other or adjacent fairways.

We fight off destroying the wildwood in our design and also collect 10000
trees(with more than 16cm diameter) to create the unique forest golf course
of Shanghai. There are also hundred-meter-deep swags and thousand-years
maidenhair trees in the course.

Shanghai Silport Golf Club http://www.silport.com.cn

One of Asia’s best golf facilities, Silport Golf Club offers 36 holes of
championship golf for all levels of players. The club has received numerous
awards since its opening in 1991, and has hosted many prestigious golf
tournaments including the Volvo China Open a record 7 times. Located on the
bank of Dian-Shan Lake, the courses provide golfers with beautiful
surroundings and a rewarding golf experience. The course is open to the
public on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Silport was designed by former-US Tour professional Bob J. Martin, a member

of the Nicklaus Group who devoted his life to golf and course design.

The construction of Silport makes full use of the natural landforms of

Dianshan Lake. The combination of the delicate design, the difficult rough,
the changing wind and the undulating fairways, provides players with a most
challenging golfing experience. The beautiful scenery of the Dian-shan Lake
integrated perfectly with the fairways.

Having held Volvo China Open seven times successfully, Shanghai Silport Golf
Club is recognized as ‘Home for China Open’. Also, featuring ancient rock
sculptures of Ming and Qing Dynasty, the outstanding course condition and
services, and the first-rate tournament experiences have led the award of
‘The Best Caddy Services’, ‘The best Clubhouse Services’, ‘Top Ten Golf Clubs
in China’ and ‘The Best Venue for Asian Tournament’, etc, to Silport which has
become the favorite venue for big international corporate events in Shanghai
for commercial and social purpose.

With winter seeding, the course remains in good condition all year-round. In
2006, Silport has expanded to 36 holes, among which 18 holes would be
dedicated strictly for members only.

Going North, we get to Qingdao, the city famous for its brewery of the same
name, and one night.

QINGDAO

Qingdao is a beautiful seaside city on the southern coast of the Shandong

Peninsula bordering on the Yellow Sea and the Jiaozhou Bay. The city lies on
undulating hills with luxuriantly green trees and buildings noted for their
attractive architectural styles. The red colour of the tiled roves, green colour of
the trees thills and blue of the sea contrast beautifully. All this along with its
beautiful climate, make the city well-known as a summer and health resort.

Tiger Beach Golf Course http://www.tigerbeach.com/

Stand on the first tee at Tiger Beach Golf Links and prepare to briefly lose
the ability to speak. The view from this tricky par four, one of the highest
points on the course, is awe-inspiring: rough sand dunes covered in wild
fescue, rumpled fairways punctuated by seemingly inescapable pot bunkers,
ocean waves crashing over a sandy stretch of beach in the distance-goats can
even be seen grazing in the tangled rough. Then there's the wind, hammering
off the sea on my visit in November, with the flagsticks fighting a losing battle
to remain upright, and the temperature, which had the nifty thermometer on
my newfangled wristwatch reading forty-six degrees Fahrenheit. My playing
partner, Brad Shih, the club's amiable executive vice president, understood
my befuddlement. "Just like Scotland , right," he said, his inflection indicating
he meant it as a statement, not a question. "It's more Scottish than Scotland
," I replied in all seriousness before scuttling a weak drive down the fairway.
Except the breaking waves at Tiger Beach belong to the Yellow Sea, not the
North Sea . This isn't Scotland ; this is China . Or to be exact, this is a pure
links in China 's northerly Shandong Province that looks as if it had been laid
out in the 1800s but is, in fact, less than seven years old. An exact replica of
the Swilcan Bridge at St. Andrews crosses a trickling burn in front of the fifth
tee, and I challenge even gruff hip-flask-toting Scots to tell the difference.
More astonishing is that Tiger Beach (named in honor of Tiger Woods's
historic 2000 season, during which he won three majors) was designed not
by Jack Nicklaus or Tom Fazio but by Beta Soong, the club's links-loving
owner. Soong, a Taiwanese entrepreneur who made a fortune in electronics,
first experienced the traditional form of golf in the early 1990s when visiting a
newly acquired factory near Glasgow . A few rounds on the Ayrshire coast
followed by a tour of classic British Isles links and his mind was made up: He
would return to China and build a course of the kind that Asia had never seen.
