Jurisdiction of the Supreme Court Supreme Court has original jurisdiction, now concurrent with the RTC, over

r cases affecting the ambassadors, other public ministers, and consuls, and over petitions on certiorari, prohibition, mandamus, quo warranto, and habeas corpus They have the power to review, revise, reverse, modify or appear an appeal or certiorari over cases in which the constitutionality and validity of any treaty, executive agreements, law, presidential issuances, proclamation, orders, instructions, ordinance or rules is in questions All cases in which the validity of tax, impost, assessment or any penalty imposed in relation thereto All cases in which the jurisdiction of any inferior court is an issue In criminal cases where the penalty imposed is reclusion perpetua or higher All cases in which an error or question of law is involved Jurisdiction of Court of Appeals The CA has original jurisdiction to issue the writs of mandamus, prohibition, certiorari, quo warranto and habeas corpus and auxiliary writs and processes whether or not in aid of its appellate jurisdiction. The CA has original jurisdiction over actions for annulment of judgements of the RTC. The CA has exclusive appellate jurisdiction over cases involving final judgements, decisions, resolutions, orders or awards by the RTC and quasi-judicial agencies, instrumentalities, boards and commissions, except those falling under the appellate jurisdiction of the SC in accordance with the Constitution. Has the power to receive evidences in cases originally filed in the court and in appealed cases when it grants new trial Jurisdiction of Sandiganbayan Has exclusive jurisdiction over cases involving violations of the o Anti Graft and Corrupt Practices Act o RA 1379 on forfeitures of property unlawfully acquired o Provisions on bribery under the RPC Other offenses or felonies of public officers and employees in relation to their office, including those employed in government-owned or controlled corporatons Jurisdiction of the Regional Trial Courts Civil actions in which the subject of the litigation is incapable of pecuniary estimation Civil actions which involve the title to or possession of, real property or any interest therein except actions for forcible entry and unlawful detainer Actions in admiralty and maritime jurisdiction Matters of probate, both testate and intestate Actions involving the contract of marriage and marital relations Civil actions and special proceedings falling within the exclusive jurisdiction of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts and Court of Agrarian Relations Jurisdiction of Metropolitan Trail Courts, Municipal Trial Courts, Municipal Circuit Trial Courts Cases of forcible entry and detainer Violations of city or municipal ordinances Offenses involving damage to property through criminal negligence Offenses punishable with imprisonment of not exceeding 4 years and 2 months Violations of traffic rules and regulations
