Band Leader, Trumpeter and Vocalist of Bam-

Bam-Jazz,
Bill Averbach is a seasoned musician who has
performed throughout the US and Europe. In the
mid-70’s he moved to Austin, TX, where he
immediately became a force to influence and shape Austin music. Since his
recent move to the Carolinas he has spent his time between tours with road
shows and his won bands developing Bam- Bam-Jazz. His music has been
recorded, arranged and performed by many bands playing Country, Blues,
Jazz, Tejano, Brazilian, E. European and Caribbean music. He has written,
arranged, and produced numerous film scores, composes chamber music, and
lectures on Folk, Jazz, and Ethnomusicology in Colleges and Universities. He
has won numerous awards over the years in the fields of Jazz, Folk Music,
and Composition, and is gaining recognition as a forerunner in the music
scene in the Carolinas, his new home. His musical tastes range from the most
traditional to the most contemporary. When asked what kind of music he
liked Bill replied “Good music; what else can there be that’s worth playing?
The audience matters and the music matters and you have to enjoy it.”
