GE introduced its electronic

ballast range in 2003.
The device is used for
starting and operating
discharge lamps.
GE’s ballast line includes CMH, CFL and LFL electronic ballasts. They are
energy efficient alternatives to electromagnetic ballasts and ideally
suited to operate GE lamps. Besides the small compact size for all types,
ballasts ensure flicker free light throughout the lifetime of the lamp.
The combination of GE lamps and ballasts meets requirements for long
product life and superior performance.

with dedicated GE electronic ballasts ensures further enhanced performance throughout a long lamp life. All CMH ballasts
offered by GE are electronic, giving important advantages over conventional electromagnetic circuits:

Ballasts are available in 20W, 35W, 70W and 150W ceramic metal halide lamps and quartz metal halide lamps. There
are two mounting options for all wattages:
• Integral with open terminals – designed for embodiment into the luminaire housing
• Remote with covered terminal and cable strain relief – for location outside the luminaire.

Compact Fluorescent Ballast

An electronic ballast to operate GE’s unique high output compact fluorescent lamps: the BiaxTM Q/E 57W and 70W. A single
ballast is suitable for both lamp wattages, enabling more flexibility in design and manufacturing.
The lamps allow reaching high illumination levels with less luminaries compared to many CFL downlights.
