The TOA C-DR161/091 Series is made up of 16 DVR (digital video recorder) units, offering a wide range of video input, HDD storage and DVD burning capabilities. Up to eight DVR units can be linked in cascade configurations to form a large-scale system with a maximum of 128 cameras connected. By linking as many as four C-RM1000 remote control units, a sophisticated zone-based security system can be configured. Operational efficiency and economy are greatly enhanced because there is no need for additional special equipment.

A network can be set up for live surveillance and playback, with web browser control, and email transmission to report alarm. A high picture quality of 720 x 240 pixels and high frame rate of 100 IPS(Image Per Second) are provided. Each camera can have individual recording rate and picture quality settings. There is a wide selection of recording and search modes, as well as backup to a built-in DVD-R or external USB memory. PC viewer software is also automatically created. Password and USB key corresponding to the operation level protects the DVR system from unauthorized access.

Extensive range of products in the series satisfy any demand.

TOA's latest DVR products are the C-DR161/091 Series. This series is composed of 16 units which feature different video input capabilities, different HDD storage capacities as well as incorporating DVD burner. These products can be partnered with a range of peripherals including the C-RM1000 dedicated remote controller and two external HDD expansion units in order to configure systems that can fulfill the needs of many specific applications.

Versatile system expansion possibilities

for fulfilling specific requirements.

Backing up data with dedicated viewer

Utilizing the new DVR C-DR161/091 Series makes it possible to assemble large-scale systems using up to eight DVR units in cascade configuration. Each DVR unit can have two external HDD expansion units and the system can be efficiently operated using up to a maximum of 4 remote controllers. Such large systems allow connecting up to 128 cameras with HDD expanded externally by up to 4.8TB per DVR unit. Configuring systems as needed can be performed efficiently as well as economically as special or dedicated devices are not required.

software .

Recorded data can be backed up to the built-in DVD-R drive or external USB memory. Whenever a backup copy is made, viewer software that allows image viewing on a PC is also copied to the backup medium.

Secure measures protect system.

System security is also provided by a user log-in password corresponding to the operation level and USB-based protection that locks the unit, preventing operation or any changing to the settings unless a registered USB memory key is used. To safeguard recorded images, the DVRs are supplied with software that will detect images that have been altered.

Remote control capabilities via network

enhance system performance.

A DVR from the C-DR161/091 Series offers remote surveillance, search and playback of recorded images via a 10/100 BASE-T network. Remote surveillance can be performed just with unit controls without dedicated software and control can be performed via a web browser such as Internet Explorer. In addition, there is an e-mail transmission function to report alarm.

Wide selection of recording modes.

Recording modes are Priority recording, Auto recording (Alarm even/Normal), Pre-recording.

Accurate time synchronizing.

Recording time data is absolutely essential for the integrity of the recorded images, so the new DVR units include a NTP server-based time correction function. Time correction can also be accessed for TOA combination cameras that are connected to the DVR.

High picture quality with high frame rate.

TOA DVRs feature a maximum high frame rate of 100 IPS for image recording with a high picture quality of 720 x 240 pixels. Each camera in a system can have individual settings for recording rate and picture quality which in turn enable setting priority recording.

Full-featured remote controller assists

operation.

Multiple search modes for quicker results.

Searching recorded data is easy as various data search modes are offered: Time/day search and Event search (priority recording, timer recording, alarm recording, motion detection recording). This versatility makes it possible to select an optimal search method for particular requirements.

The C-RM1000 remote controller can control the new DVR CDR161/091 Series in addition to TOA combination dome cameras via the DVR. A single remote controller can control up to eight DVR units and when the maximum eight DVRs are cascaded, controlling 128 combination dome cameras becomes possible.

Grouping maximizes surveillance

efficiency.

Effective surveillance is accomplished by dividing surveillance into multiple zones for security purposes, and this is desirable for many sites including factories, commercial facilities, schools and buildings. The new DVR also makes it possible to group using the C-RM1000 remote controller, helping to easily configure optimal, sophisticated systems.

TOA Wide Dynamic Range Method

Conventional cameras employ a single speed of 1/50sec. when taking images. TOAs Wide Dynamic Range Method makes use of two shutter speeds, one set at 1/100sec. and one that is variable from 1/100sec. to 1/10500sec. to take two images which are electronically combined to produce a single, high-quality image.

High-speed shutter loses details of indoor.

Low-speed shutter creates whiteout of outdoor.

Backlight compensation
TOA'S Wide Dynamic Range cameras have been designed to overcome the problems encountered by conventional CCD cameras. Most of these problems originate from trying to accurately focus when the area of coverage includes areas with varying brightness. Because cameras in some cases are affected by the bright areas they are monitoring, there are some hard-to-see dark areas. When backlight compensation mode is selected, the camera divides an image into 48 segmented areas and compares the brightness in each area, to automatically adjust the required amount of backlight compensation for the desired segments.

Output of both image and alarm signals via a single cable

The camera is equipped with a terminal for input of sensor signals. The alarm signals from a sensor can be superposed on the coaxial cable used for transmitting images captured by the camera. This feature reduces cumbersome cabling.
*This function is possible only when the camera is used together with the C-RU10.

High resolution images

TOA cameras provide a high horizontal resolution level of 500 lines for excellent image quality.

Minimum required illumination of 0.5 lx

Featuring high sensitivity that is minimum required illumination of 0.5 lx (350mV), TOA cameras deliver clear color and full motion images even under poor lighting conditions.

48 segmented areas

Pattern 1

Pattern 2

The user selects the image area that is most important for viewing by segments. The backlight function then works to adjust light conditions concentrating on the selected image area, providing optimal view for effective monitoring. The 3 segment selection options for compensation are: Pattern 1 that selects segments located in the center and lower half of the screen. Pattern 2 for a user-defined single area. Manual for precise user-defined control for selecting one or more segments that will be backlight-compensated.
* Backlight compensation is switched off when the wide dynamic range function is used.

Maximum 64 times sensitivity boost

Magnification sensitivity can be increased as needed all the way up to x64 in steps of x2, x4, x6, x8, x10, x16, x24, x32 and x64 to compensate for lighting conditions that may be unsatisfactory. Sensitivity is boosted automatically to the point where good images can be captured. The camera now works well with a minimum illumination level of as low as 0.01 lx, enabling night video surveillance in color.

Day/Night operation Privacy masking function

For privacy protection, users are allowed to select up to 4 locations to be masked in a camera's field of view. When an illumination level of the monitoring area becomes too low for capturing clear images in color, the camera automatically switches to the B/W mode. This function makes it possible to monitor target and target areas that cannot be seen in normal light.
* boosting sensitivity may increase the afterimage phenomenon as shutter speed is reduced. * Using B/W mode requires dedicated lens.

A screen is divided into 48 segments, and motion detection is performed in each of the segmented areas. When motion is detected, motion-detection signals can be output from the remote unit C-RU10 via the coaxial cable used for sending image signals from the camera.
*This function is possible only when the camera is used together with the C-RU10.

Sensitivity boost allows cameras to provide good color image quality for dark areas.

*Focus Adjustment without the ND filter

Iris and depth of field
When adjusting focus, an important aspect is depth of field, actually the depth of the focus. The term depth is used is because we can describe it as being deep or shallow. If the in-focus area goes well into (long distance) the subject field is referred to as being deep. If the background area is not in focus but the subject field is in sharp focus, the field is referred to as being shallow.

Why will correct focus set during the day go off at night?
Thats because focus has not been precisely set. Shooting with an auto-iris lens, the amount of light during the day makes the lens iris opening stay small. This results in a deep depth of field. But as day turns to night, the lens iris opens to get more light, the depth of field is reduced and the focus goes off. To adjust the focus, it is necessary to open the lens iris and reduce the depth of field. When using an auto-iris lens, the ND filter must be used to approximate nighttime light conditions so that the lens iris stays open and depth of field is reduced before adjusting the focus. * Neutral Density (ND) Filter: A filter which reduces light coming through the camera lens without any effect on the lights color temperature.
ND Filter

Depth of field is deep

Adjustment switch makes focusing simple.

Depth of field is shallow

The depth of field will change depending on the focal length of the lens, the iris of the lens and the shooting distance. And in surveillance cameras, the lens iris has an effect on focusing. As the diagram makes clear, the wider the lens iris opening size, the shallower will be the depth of field.

TOA Compact Cameras do not require an ND filter for adjusting focus. By just setting the focus adjustment switch on the camera to ON, the lens iris opens and a shallow depth of field is maintained. To achieve perfect focus simply and easily, just set the adjustment switch ON, adjust ON OFF focus and then set the switch OFF.

Versatile Alarm Functions

TOA multiplexers offer many alarm functions that are easily set in the setup menu. Sensor Alarm: Each camera connected is equipped with a sensor input terminal. Alarm activation triggers a buzzer while onscreen display warning and video recording speed is automatically set to standard speed. Multiple Alarm Inputs allow prioritizing cameras when an alarm is generated. When multiple alarms are generated, video image switching is suspended and the alarms are put on hold so that the operator can select the alarms corresponding cameras images to view in desired order. In addition, each alarm terminal can be set to notify on a breakor-make or make basis. VCR Reproduction Alarm: A buzzer sounds when playing back the part of a recording that contains a sensor alarm event. Video Loss Alarm: Alerts when power or signal from a particular camera is lost. Letters "VL" and the camera ID number will be displayed. Alarm Information: Dates, times and camera ID number of sensor and video loss alarms can be reviewed on an independent alarm information screen. A maximum of 64 events will be recorded and a new event will record over the oldest event.
