The repairmen have somewhat different kinds of skills and they exhibit different levels of efficiency from one job to another. He has estimated the number of man hours that would be required for each job-man combination. 7) The government solicits five companies to bid on five different proposals with the intent of giving one job to each of the companies. 9) WELDONE Company has taken the third floor of a multi-storied building for rent with a view to locate one of their Zonal Offices, there are five main rooms on this floors to be assigned to five managers. Each room has its own advantages and disadvantages. Some have windows, some are closer to the washrooms or to the canteen or to the secretarial pool. The rooms are of different sizes and shapes. Each of the five managers was asked to rank their preference amongst the rooms 301, 302, 303, 304 and 305. Most of the managers did not list all the five rooms since they were not satisfied with some of these rooms and they left off these from the list. 10) XYZ Corporation has four plants each of which can manufacture any one four products. The production costs differ from one plant to another as do sales revenue. 11) Distribution Company Sonata has four territories open for four transport companies available for assignment. The territories are not equally rich in their economic activity potentials.
