If I toss a coin 2 times, what are the
total possibilities?
• There are four possibilities: H= Head, T =
tail
• HH, HT, TT, TH

How many possibilities are there if
we toss a dice 2 times?
• 11,12,13,14,15,16,21,22,23,24,25,26,31,3
2,33,34,35,36,41,42,43,44,45,46,51,52,53
,54,55,56,61,62,63,64,65,66
• Thus there are 6* 6 = 36 possibilities.

We have two shooters, Goutam
and Dhawal. There are 1/3 chances
that each of them can shoot. Some
they aim at the target, what is the
possibility that the target is not hit
by either of them (one shot each)?
The chance that Dhawal will not hit is 2/3 (1-

1/3). Same is the probability with Goti. So
the total probability is 2/3 * 2/3 = 4/9
We have three shooters, Nidhi and
Jayati & Sudha. There are 1/5
chances that each of them can
shoot. they aim at the target, what
is the possibility that the target is hit
by either of them?

• There are 10 green balls out of total 15
balls, so the probability is 10/15 or 2/3
answer.
