An organization of all the 110 State Universities and Colleges all over the Philippines. PUP signed a Memorandum of Agreement to train and upgrade faculty qualifications and competencies of SUCs in Information and Communications Technology. The largest association of IT professionals representing 90% of the IT community in the Philippines. It is the umbrella association of IT organizations clustered as Suppliers, Users, and Academe. All dealings with the government are represented through the ITFP as one big IT organization. Dr. Ofelia M. Carague is one of the Board of Directors of ITFP. The PCS is the organization of information technology professionals. It is a venue that fosters sharing of dreams and visions, and friendship and cooperation among IT professionals and practitioners. The COMDDAP is an organization responsible for holding exhibits to showcase the latest technology. The ISSSP is an organization which provides updates on IT security issues and trends. Linked with these three organizations in the promotion of regional and international exchanges and cooperation in the field of IT and related technologies. We have organized three National Conferences which are: SynchronicITy in Manila October 2-4, 2003 SynchronicITy in Baguio February 26-28, 2004 SynchronicITy in Cebu August 1-3, 2004 Working with them closely in organizing these three conferences are Dr. Ofelia Carague, Dr. Carmela Perz, Gisela May Albano, Mely Luya and Dr. Theresita Atienza. ITECC is chaired by no less than Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Dr. Ofelia Carague, Mely Luya and Gisela May Albano participated in the various ITECC Committees and Subcommittees such as the Human Resource Committee and the E-government committee This is an organization which accredits State Universities and Colleges in the different programs offered. It measures the quality and excellence of a specific SUC. Gisela May Albano and Rosicar Escober helped finalize the Revised Accreditation Instrument for ICT. Assistance of PUP during the Philippine ASAIHL Seminar on December 2-4, 2001 by arranging the tour of th PUPICT Center.

EDUTECH Education Tech

The JITSE is a certification examination for IT professionals who wants to gain employment in a Japanese firm here and abroad. This certification was endorsed by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and adopted by the National Computer Center (NCC) to be considered as the Philippine IT Standard Examination. It is sponsored by JITSE-Phil, the Ministry of Economics, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan, and DTI Philippines. Gisela May Albano, Mely Luya and Remedios Ado are members of the JITSE task Force actively involved in the preparation of the test questions for the standard examination which is administered twice a year here in the Philippines. Formerly called Meeting Points International, Inc. It is an umbrella company of Expovision Trade Services (Expotrade), an established professional congress and exhibition organizer, and publisher of Shop Talk, the trends and development magazine of the Philippine retail industy. They handle international conferences and exhibitions. PUP / PSUCCESS was one of the Cooperating Agencies in the organization of the EDUTECH 2001, EDUTECH 2002, EDUTECH 2004 National Conferences. As such we helped them search for speakers, assisted in the program and also encouraged participants.

The National Industry Working Group (NIWG) was establishec by the industry itself in april 2003 and endorsed by the TESDA as the voice of the Industry in Technical Vocational Educational Training (TVET). The NIWG has oversight of the full range of TVET development including competency A sector of the National Industry Working Group which handles Technical Vocational Educational Training (TVET) matters regarding ICT such as competency standards development, curriculum and assessment, development and maintenance of the National Sectoral Skills Plan (NSSP). There are three sectors under the NIWG which are: Tourism, Health and Information and Communication Technology. CCMIT thru the dean, Gisela May Albano sits as one of the members of the IWG-ICT committee responsible for the development of the NSSP for ICT. A non-government organization devoted to the design, implementation and promotion of IT related programs and careers. It is composed of IT educators and professionals from SUCs who are involved in promoting appropriate application of ICT in education, administration and research. Its main office is at PUP Sta. Mesa, Manila and the President is Dr. Ofelia M. Carague. CCMIT is assigned to be the working arm in all the projects done by PSUCCESS. Organized the PSUCCESS National conference with the theme: Convergence on Knowledge Economy: Braving ICT Challenges on August 7-9, 2002 at the Traders Hotel, Roxas Blvd. Manila.

Some CCMIT faculty were tapped to undertake the review/revision and validation of the occupational skills standards and tests for Computer Programmer, Data Encoder, and Data Communications are Norberto Caturay, Mely Luya, Eva Villanueva, May Albano, Doris Gatan, Rosicar Escober, Michael Dela Fuente, Roland Arigadas, and Lydinar Dastas. Rosicar Escober, Ma. Luisa Aro, Rodrigo Aro, Aline Pealane, Demelyn Monzon, Nelissa Oro, Alma Cortuna, Cherry Moldez, Mary Grace Mago, Joel Socorro, Carmela Perez, Marlon Lim, Renida Cabungcal developed and helped roll out the New Government Accounting System (NGAS) The National Computer Center is an organization under the Department of Science and Technology, with about 25 years of existence in the field of I.T. It is the primary agency in the government charged with the responsibility of directing IT user for national development and of rationalizing computerization in the government. A memorandum of agreement regarding NCC and PUP Educational Alliance in ICT has been forged. Dr. Carmela Perez, Mely Luya, Gisela May Albano and Rosita Canlas are members of the CHED-NCR Quality Assurance Team responsible for evaluating schools who would like to offer ITE programs. Preliminary meetings have been done regarding different projects they are proposing to upgrade the ICT curriculum for better industry match. PUP signed a Memorandum of Agreement with DOST that PUP will help in the implementation of DOST's programs for the promotion, development, and enhancement of ICT. Both shall develop and coordinate training programs and seminars for IT professionals and experts in various fields and areas related to ICT. Assisted in the 3rd and 4th National Search for IT Products Excellence sponsored by DOST.

One of the organizers of the Investors' Forum on ICT which commenced last November 20, 2003. Gisela May Albano was one of the Panel of Judges during the 2002 and 2003 Search for National Inventors in the area of ICT. A Saudi-Jordinian Company that focuses on assisting people to acquire the much needed undergraduate and Post graduate education. Their mission is to link demands for higher education with well established and reputable institutions world wide and therefore create a win-win situation for both the university and the students. Preliminary meeting and coordination were already done. Preliminary meetings were done on the prospect of putting up a CiSCO Academy at the ICT Center.

It encourages the small players in our country, the small and medium enterprises (smes), cooperatives, farmers, producers and buyers to post their produce in the internet. Entered into memorandum of agreement with Landbank and B2Bpricenow.com to provide technology e-commerce training centers to the marginalized sector through the selected SUCs in the region(s), thus minimizing digital divide. This is a commitment on PUP's part to spearhead the movement to attain rapid economic and social progress through the magic of ICT. PSUCCESS and PUP will definitely extend the technical assistance to prospective users and also use their powers of persuasion to attract more members to its fold. PUP is now a member of the Microsoft IT Academy Program. Also working with them on the membership to the Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance (MSDNAA). A training and consultancy company with great experience in the fields of human resource management, institutional development, information technology, entrepreneurship ventures and communication services. They conduct orientation to help our new graduates in IT and CS. Helps CCMIT in the deployment of graduates by administering pre-employment test and training. Helps CCMIT in the deployment of graduates in their banks. An organization which provides PUP with the expertise and resources necessary for PUP to gain access to the internet. An organization responsible for giving PUP-CCMIT scholarship grants to our students. Organized a symposium in cooperation with PID and PUP with the title: Empowering the Deaf and Other Differently Abled Persons last October 4, 2002.
