Subject Distributed on: Instructions on Assignment: Task Choose an organisation that has undergone major strategic change in recent years. The organisation can be one for which you can gather sufficient research material. The module lecturer must approve your choice of organisation before you commence the tasks you should therefore be prepared to discuss your choice of organisation during the assignment workshop). You are required to research and write a report which: 1. Identifies and discusses the nature of the change undertaken by your chosen organisation. 2. Evaluates the way in which the change was managed. 3. Explores the nature of leadership employed in the change. The report must make substantial use of theories and analytical frameworks a story is not sufficient! Guidelines As a guide to your choice, it is expected that you will be able to draw upon and cite credible sources of information both internal and external to the organisation - e.g. quality newspaper and journal articles as well as company publications and website materials. The target length of the report is 2,500 words (graphs, tables and appendices may be included in addition to this). Conciseness will be rewarded whereas unnecessary volume will be penalised. Appendices must only be used in support of the main text discussion and must be referenced properly. The frameworks should be used to assist you in the analysis and preparation of the report rather than a dominant feature of it or a focus of theory based discussion. However, they should be used explicitly enough to demonstrate your ability your apply them. You should only use bullet points in summaries. Bullet points alone are not acceptable statements must be justified and supported with evidence. Badly written and/or badly organised work will attract a low grade. Note that this is a group assignment.
