ABSTRACT

BISMILLAH HIRRAHMAN NIRAHIM

The purpose of this final year project report is to conclude the cost analysis for
the use of different types of piles by extraction of information on cost of piles from
supplier and self-site investigation.

This report stress the effort and research made by Mohammad Zulfaizal Mat
Daud and Ady Merlina Manaf and is supervised by Mr. Ismawi bin Hj. Md. Yusof; for the
final year project in the final semester of study as part of the 2½ year Construction
Engineering & Management course in the Institute Technology Brunei (ITB).

This report includes minor introduction on piles mainly RC Precast and RC Spun,
types of plant and methods of estimation.

The content will elabourate on cost of labour, cost of hiring a plant and cost of
piles including factors that affect costs.

The analysis will compromise the comparison of piles on workload basis, fillet-
weld and wastage. Finally, with the closing discussion and conclusion, we certainly hope
to provide the best-cost approximate estimation in terms of Brunei dollar.
