When homework is given, students are required to hand up their work on the expected date of completion. However, there are both advantages and disadvantages of assigning homework assignment. One of the main advantage of assigning homework is that homework assignment gives student extra practice on the material they covered in class. It is a reinforcement of what we have studied in school, to make sure students achieve better understanding. Some students often learn best by doing extra. There is an old saying that practice makes perfect. Additionally, homework allow the teacher to cover some additional material that teacher did not have time to cover in class. Besides that, homework assignment possessed most of the students time. Students with so much homework will eventually sit in front of the desk for more than half a day. This could be an effective way to keep some students who spend most of their time watching movies and com puter games. For example, homework assignment that needs to pass up to the teacher on the next day, students will make an effort to finish up his or her homework on time. Homework also keeps students busy and away from all the negative activities such as smoking and stealing. On the other hand, homework can be very stressful to students. Teachers often assign excessive homework to their students. For example, when every teacher gives one homework on the subject they teach on the same day, students will eventually ending up doing mountains of homework causing student to be lack of personal time and energy. Teachers should not give too much homework to their students. Students need personal space to relax and learn more things that are out of the tesk book for further development. Students need to finish their homework every single day. This is a very boring task for a normal student. The same thing that repeats everyday may cause the student to lose his interest in his studies. Moreover, students have no time for other useful activities. Sometimes they may even feel lost with no guidance. Communication is the key to strengthen a relationship, students should not lock themselves in home to do homework but to come out of their home and join more social activities. Conclusion, homework may improve a students abilities and skills in studies. It may also improve a students organization skills. However, too much homework does not bring any good. Therefore, teachers should only give homework on the important topics that are coming out for the exam. So that students will have more spare time to lead them to learn what they need in the future.
