1) Short notes on the location :

Kedah Pier, Pulau Pinang and Pak Nam Ranong are exposed coastal area.

These areas are subtidal area that is shallow and less exposed to the atmosphere.

Subtidal area is the area where tides occur and it is rich of nutrients that brought

by from the river that flows through this area. The mixing of seawater and

freshwater that occur here caused the stratification to form.

Mae Klong is an estuary where the area is hidden and have high local

effect. Estuary is an area where the seawater and freshwater meet. Therefore, this

area has high concentration of nutrient and organic matter. During the low tide,

the estuary area is exposed to the atmosphere and when it is high tide, the

seawater will flow into the estuary. The water level here is depend on the tide of

the sea.

Ko Prap is a bay that covered fron the wind blow. The bay is form from

the mud that form like a fortification across the sea.

5) Kedah Pier, Ko Prap and Mae Klong are suitable for shrimp aquaculture at intertidal

area. The tides level are at about 2 to 3 meter, so it is ideal for the shrimp pond. Pak

Nam Ranong is not suitable to culture shrimp since it have too high tide level that more

than 3 meter.

6)

7) We have to use water pump to pump water in or out of the pond. So that the water will

always available in the pond and the height of water can be control.
