Faulty Equipment
Before using equipment, the employee should have received appropriate
training and have been authorised to use the equipment.
If a fault develops the employee should:

Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981


Employers must:

Ensure that an appointed person is available


to take charge of first-aid arrangements when
someone is injured or falls ill and to look after
first-aid equipment

Ensure that a first-aider is designated a first-aider can also take on


the duties of an appointed person

Ensure that a suitably stocked first-aid box is available

Ensure that a record is kept of all incidents

Inform employees about first-aid arrangements, ie names an locations


of appointed persons and first-aiders, and location of first-aid box

When an incident occurs in the workplace it is necessary to fill in an

The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences
