Extended Essay: Proposal Presentation

You are supposed to make your presentation on the following [1-4] main headings

1. Proposed Title of the Extended Essay: . 1.1. Introduction: You are supposed to make brief introduction on the research issue or the problem chosen here. Please note that this is not an introduction about the chosen company or the organization. The chosen issue/problem should be introduced and illustrated with facts and figures. For instance, if you are interested in writing your extended essay on staff turnover, data on staff turnover of the industry in general and the staff turnover of the company over a couple of years in particular, should be available to justify your issue or the problem.

2. Objectives: You should state the objective/s of your study here. Your objective/s should have SMART qualities: Suggestions for Writing SMART Objectives 2.1. SPECIFIC. Concrete Use action verbs Example to reduce inventory cost up to 5% 2.2. MEASURABLE: Numeric [quantitative]or descriptive [qualitative] Quantity, quality, cost Example To achieve zero error production level to change attitude 2.3. ATTAINABLE/ACHIEVABLE Feasible Appropriately limited in scope Within the control and influence Example: To organize a discussion forum to be held at FGS-Conference 2011, and invite both practitioners and graduate faculty to attend and discuss how graduate school can better prepare students for careers in management.

2.4. RELEVANCE/REALISTIC Measures outputs or results (not activities) Includes products, accomplishments Example: to develop documents that define, explain, and provide examples of uses of emerging technologies in order to assist policymakers who are considering or have already started integrating them in their organization. 2.5. TIME - BOUND Identifies target date(s) Includes interim steps and a plan to monitor progress (if possible) Example: to achieve 5% inventory cost by the end of 2011. 3. Method/s of the study You are supposed to identify appropriate method/s to conduct the Research/study. This include research types [exploratory/progress monitoring/ conclusive/ descriptive/ causal] to be used types of data [primary/secondary/tertiary] and data collection tool to be used(i.e. questionnaire, interviews, observations etc) sampling [if applicable] and selection method models/concepts/theory/analytical tools to be used

4. Preliminary References/Bibliography Please state the references made in order to develop this proposal
