Efficient Spindle Running with Minimal Energy Consumption Authors: Key words: Abstract

Energy is the prime source of human activities in all sectors of life in todays world; everyone is running after the cost reduction and conserving energy. Energy crises are one of the main reasons for so many economic imbalances all over the world most particularly in the 3rd world. The very same problem is being faced by under developing countries like Pakistan. Huge portion of electrical energy is consumed by the industrial (textile) sector in Pakistan. According to Wikipedia survey for 2010, total numbers of spindles present in Pakistan are about 15 million comprising 48% share of the total energy consumption in textile sector of Pakistan, which is very high as compared to the its generation capacity. These large scale losses emphases upon us to take this matter very seriously, and develop strategies to overcome this consumption and generation gap. This research paper is an effort to achieve the objective by concentrating upon saving the electrical energy on Ring frames. Normally, the 504 spindle Ring frame consumes 25KW (Approx), which can be reduced up to 15KW by considering the below cited factors. The factors are:

The ultimate reduction in load over a ring frame can result in major saving to energy which will be about 295 MW all over Pakistan. that the power saved from the textile sector may be utilized by other useful projects in Pakistan, and a power of 295 MW can be added to national grid so that the power situation in the country may be eased. Pakistan today is short of power so it will be a step in the right direction to save power from textile without affecting its output.
