The Gender-Based Effectiveness Skills Training (G-BEST)

Program for ARB Leaders aims to help women- and
men- ARBs to:

1. Re-examine their traditional views about women

and men, and about the relations of women and
men within the household, the ARB organization,
and the ARC;
2. Analyze the implications of these traditional gender
stereotypes and scripts, and their resulting
inequitable gender relations to their growth as
persons, as an ARB organization, and as an ARC;
3. Clarify and resolve gender myths and
misconceptions;
4. Define processes in mainstreaming gender in the
ARB organization;
5. Develop a gender-affirmative action plan;
6. Demonstrate increased commitment towards
becoming gender-sensitive individuals and
passionate advocates of gender and
development (GAD) in their households, ARB
organizations, and ARCs.
