Ministry Updates Oct 2011

CAFE: 1. Praise God last Aug 29-30, we were able to have a Team Building Camp at Jabez Campsite in Dasmarinas, Cavite. Praise God that 6 CSB students were able to join us. We had a good time learning about working as a team. God also used the event to lead the CAFE Core Leadership Team to a deeper bond and sharing.

2. Praise God that we have set up our own Facebook fan page (http://www.facebook.com/CAFEHub). Thank God we got the name CAFEHub, which is exactly what we call our place in Vito Cruz. We are posting updates, pictures, announcements, and useful resources to the page. Our aim is for the website to become an additional contact point for CAFE members and those interested to learn more about CAFE. 3. Please pray for us as we are in the process of forming prayer partnerships with other pastors/churches. Our hope is to raise up a mighty army of prayer warriors who will stand in the gap for CAFE Church. Campus Ministry: 1. Praise God last Sep 22, we launched a weekly event called CAFE JAM. The purpose of the event is to have a nonthreatening environment where students could just come in, listen to some music, and get to know about CAFE. As we serve the students and bond with them, we aim to intentionally share Jesus to them in a different environment where they can explore the Christian faith.

2. Praise God that some students are coming to the Student Hub and bringing some of their friends. Please pray that the students would be comfortable in making the CAFE Student Hub a place for their tambayan.

3. Praise God that Michael Tiu and Kats Tan were able to meet with a nun in St. Scholastica's College and present CAFE to her. We aim to have access inside the college by providing values formation seminars. Please pray that God would grant us favor and open doors of opportunity for ministry. 4. Please pray for Ptr. Sebs, Andrew Tsai, Michael Tiu, Kats Tan, and Aimeeh Lim as we meet w/ the DLSU & CSB students on Thursdays and Fridays. 5. Please pray for God's guidance as we start up other events / ministries for the students. We're praying to start a ministry specifically targetted to women students of DLSU/CSB/St.Scho. And we're looking to launch a weekly session of exploring the Christian faith for seekers who want to know more about God. Sunday Worship Ministry: 1. Last month (Sep), we began a 2-month series on the book of Exodus. Our theme is: Letting God Lead Your Life. We are reading through the book of Exodus together as a church and studying it on our Sunday worship services. May we indeed follow God's lead in our lives. 2. Praise God last Aug 21, we had A Different Kind of Worship where instead of worshipping God inside the church building, we worshipped God by going out and serving the poor. We were able to distribute 200 hard-boiled eggs, 100 sandwiches, and old clothes to the street people along Roxas Blvd. CCP area. 3. Praise God that the Sunday School ministry has begun last September. We are teaching the less-fortunate kids how to read & write and sharing Bible stories to them.

4. Please pray for future partnerships with the barangay, schools, or NGO's wherein we could serve the community. Care Group Ministry: 1. Praise God that CAFE leaders are persevering with the Love Matrix project. We aim to connect and show love & care to CAFE members through this system. We are on our 6th month this October. Please pray that we would continue to share the love of Jesus and brew passionate disciples one person at a time. 2. Praise God that the caregroups are continuing: Men's group on Wednesday nights, Women's group on Friday nights, and Leaders' group on Wednesday afternoon.

3. Please pray that CAFE Church would continue to be a church that cares. Pray that we would build more interconnections and deeper friendships among CAFE members. And may we not neglect meeting with one another.
