W. G. Krummrich Plant - Sauget, IL 2007 to 2011 Led a restructuring of the Site Services organization encompassing Engineering, Maintenance, Utilities, IT, Procurement/Stores and Q.A. functions. Improved service to customers and enhanced organizational productivity and effectiveness. Championed TPM at the site. Implemented a World-Class Maintenance & Reliability Lean improvement project in an SAP environment. Defined and documented key processes, KPIs and training needs to improve cost performance, work efficiency & effectiveness and reduce the use of contractor resources. Improved mechanical reliability in all manufacturing areas, meeting or surpassing annual performance goals. The site Mechanical Integrity program was considered Best-in-Company. Accountable for the design and execution of ~$5-7M of site capital project work annually, achieving stated project objectives and premises, utilizing in-house engineering resources. Led a task force recognized via a Solutia Presidents Safety Award for implementing a best-incompany contractor safety management process and achieving injury-free performance. Drove Stores optimization activities that reduced outages, improved cycle counts, reduced obsolete inventory and improved management of critical Repairables and Capital Spares. Developed a formal infrastructure asset preservation program (e.g. buildings, fire systems, utilities, sewers) to improve cost control and ensure reliable availability of these critical assets. Formed an Energy Management/Conservation Team to increase energy cost awareness and identify cost reduction possibilities. Achieved $250K in actual savings in year one. Queeny Plants - Sauget, IL & St. Louis, MO 2001 to 2007 Responsible for all aspects of performance for the worlds largest production facility for chlorinated isocyanurates while also leading the site maintenance, engineering, and utilities organizations for the two separate sites. professionals and ~50 wage employees. Responsible for budgeting and expense control for over a dozen major cost centers totaling in excess of $20M per year in fixed costs. Downsized the site maintenance organization by 70% (50+ positions) in response to the cessation of several site manufacturing operations. Shed over $4M in annual labor costs. Redesigned manufacturing department roles to achieve cost savings of $300K/year. Led the execution of $2-3M of annual capital project work utilizing in-house resources. Achieved a 15% increase in production volume and established several new production records via resolution of key downtime issues & implementation of a phased debottlenecking program. Led several key 2001 contract negotiation initiatives - achieving $1M+ in annual cost savings - as a member of the six-person management negotiating team. Championed the use of behavioral-based safety principles and fostered an environment that achieved an exponential increase in the use of behavioral-based safety tools.

J. F. Queeny Plant - St. Louis, MO (Founding location of Monsanto Company) 1997 to 2001 Led all aspects of plant administration and operations for this 135 person facility, including local community relations and administration of nine Third Party operating, U&S and/or land lease agreements. Also led the QC/QA functions for the combined Queeny and Krummrich plants, including ISO-9002 compliance. Responsible for managing over $16M in annual fixed costs. Transformed the plant culture, creating a collaborative and virtually transparent Union-Management relationship and a rewarding work environment. Reduced site staffing by over 30% while maintaining morale and achieving targeted results. Championed the implementation of a Behavioral-Based Safety process (BBS) that was later profiled in a leading BBS publication as a model for organizations with a veteran workforce. Achieved a 70% reduction in the Total Recordable Rate (TRR). Awarded Solutias Presidents Safety award for outstanding safety results. Fostered the creation of a Community Advisory Panel (CAP) that was embraced by the local community. Established a first-of-its-kind urban wildlife habitat area on company property in collaboration with local schools, community groups and the Missouri Department of Conservation. Negotiated the 1999 Company-wide benefits agreement for the Union employees at all domestic Solutia sites as a member of the four-person Management Negotiating Team. Negotiated the 1999 labor contract, the 2000 Substance Free Workplace agreement and completed impact bargaining in 2001, gaining critical cost reductions and contractual flexibility. Achieved OSHA VPP Star site certification in 1999. Reduced site support costs and restructured direct operating fixed costs to achieve a 30% cost reduction and retain one of the site Third Party businesses. Developed a comprehensive Cost Management Plan that reduced over $1M in annual site costs.
