Operation Christmas Child Operation Christmas Child is the largest Childrens project in the world, run by the Christian charity Samaritans Purse. Last year children and adults wrapped and packed around 1.12 million shoe boxes full of gifts and goodies, which were then sent to disadvantaged children across Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. I would like to encourage members of the church to take part and pack a shoe box for a disadvantaged child. Leaflets are now available on the welcome desk and as of next week there will be shoe boxes available to take. Please bring your completed shoe box to church on either 30th October or 6th November. Attending Messiah, annually, usually in the approach to Advent and Christmas, was once a great tradition in this part of the world, that may no longer be generally so, but it can be a moving and blessed experience, so if you havent done so for some time, or ever, why not take the opportunity.
