Case Study No.

1 Alleged Theft Made by an Employee Juan Stanley, office personnel, saw a mechanical part of the companys product about to be thrown by the janitor. Juan Stanley thought that the part has no value to the company. Thinking that he can still make use of it, he decided to pick it up and placed it in his bag. When he is about to leave the company premises, as part of the security standard procedure, the security personnel check his bag. The security found the part in his bag and he was charged with theft. Under the company policy the penalty for theft is dismissal. Tasks: 1. Prepare the following documents: a. a show cause memo to Juan Stanley b. The affidavits of the security guards, janitor and other possible witnesses. 2. If you are members of the investigation committee a. CASE STUDY NO. 2 Sexual Harassment Meriam, a rank-and-file employee, works in a bank assigned to the Credit Department. She had a male manager and four other co-members of the staff, all females. The manager frequently treated his staff for dinner and one evening meriam was invited for a dinner. With no malice ever noticed in the past, she went out with him. She was told further that they were to discuss her work performance. On their way back to the office, the manager started his lewd desires by trying to hold the hands of Meriam until he was on the verge of kissing her. Meriam managed to stop him and eventually succeeded in getting off the car and did not report to work the following day. Answer of the male manager on the charges of sexual harassment Tasks: 1. CASE STUDY NO. 3 A Case of Habitual Tardiness Pedro is being investigated for habitual tardiness. He is suspected of being a drug dependent. In addition, Pedro is also active in the union. He threatens to elevate the case to the grievance machinery. Tasks: 1. Prepare the following documents: a. a show cause memo to the manager, and b. An affidavit of Meriam.
