Teaching Philosophy
I believe that intrinsic motivation goes a long way in improving a student’s performance. It is with this in mind
that I tailor my lessons in such a way that students do not feel discouraged when faced with failure. To me,
failure provides the means and drive for success. My students will learn lifelong values such as perseverance
that will not only enable them to perform well in examinations, but to gear themselves up for success in the real
world as well.

Teaching Background

General Education Officer 1 (Trained) at Jurongville Secondary School (MOE)

 I was posted to Jurongville Secondary School upon completion of the PGDE (Sec) course, deployed to teach
Biology and Mathematics by the Ministry.
 During the course of my teaching stint, I have completed in-service courses that further enhanced my
teaching as well as assessment abilities. Among the courses include the UCLES Marking Course for
Biology Teachers conduced by Cambridge Chief Examiners and Staff Training Branch, Counselling Course
for Beginning Teachers and Relating to Families in School Context, Fun With DNA, among other courses
designed to inject creativity into my teaching.
 Apart from my teaching duties, I have also facilitated and conducted workshops for Primary Schools

 As a CCA Teacher-in-charge, I have imbued the C Division Soccer Boys with the values and discipline and
