RBI vide its circular no. RBI/2011-12/166-DPSS (CO)RTGS No.388/04.04.002/2011-12 dated 05.09.2011 has advised that it has been decided by them to levy Service Charges for all outward transactions of RTGS members. The RTGS Service Charges to be levied by RBI has 3 components viz. Membership Fee for Bank, Transaction Fee per transaction depending on the monthly volume and Time varying tariff depending on time of settlement of the transaction at RBI. In view of the above w.e.f.15.11.11 service charges on RTGS levied from the customers are revised

The RTGS Service Charges including Time Varying Tariff permitted by Reserve Bank of India to be recovered from customers are as under:1. Inward Transaction = Nil 2. Outward Transaction upto `2 Lacs.= Nil

Regarding the charges to be paid to RBI in respect of the membership fee and transaction fee, the charges will be calculated on monthly basis by RBI and the amount would be debited from the Current Account of the Bank ( as a whole) maintained with Deposit Account Department, RBI, Mumbai.

Regarding Time varying charges to be recovered from the customer branches are advised as under: 1. To inform the customer about revised charges for RTGS by displaying notice for revised schedule of charges as per annexure in branch premises at appropriate place on 15.10.11. As per BCSBI code one month notice is required to be given to the customer before implementation of revised charges. 2. To put time on RTGS voucher immediately on receipt of the request from the customers and to process the outward RTGS transaction immediately in Finacle to avoid customer complaints. Please ensure verification of the RTGS transactions within a reasonable time of receipt of request from the customer as the time varying charges is dependent on the time of verification and not on the time of initiating the transaction 3. Revised charges are applicable with effect from 15.11.11.
