Pipesupport Forms
Shortcut menu

The Pipesupport shortcut menu is called from the multi discipline Design menu. Pipesupport > PS Form 11.5

The Pipesupport shortcut menu (SH_CUT), as shown below, is the entrance to all Pipesupport design forms and functions for Vetco Aibel. From the buttons under the VETCO PS forms paragraph you call the forms for setting default design information like storage area and specs. All the information forms are situated here, as well as the check pipesupport function. From the buttons under the Commands paragraph you can navigate easily between all the different components of the pipesupport as well as query attributes and unclaim design elements. The buttons under the VETCO Specials paragraph are used for interaction between pipe and pipesupport and various functions to delete pipe supports. It is important to use this delete function and not the generic PDMS delete function to maintain correct references in PDMS.

When selecting the different types of copy functions enter the desired values and press the Move/Copy Support button. The multiple incremental copy functions open a new form as shown below.

Work Instruction No.:

This form allows you to make several copies of a single support along the same pipe. The naming is done automatically. Enter the desired number of new supports and the distance between them.

It is important that no one else is working in the same pipesupport zone when using the multiple incremental copy function. Otherwise there is a slight risk one might end up with elements using the same name and this will again result in crossed references and loss of work. All copy functions are inclined to produce errors usually caused by write access, status, locked elements etc. When finished copying, run Check Support from the Pipesupport Shortcut Menu to ensure data consistency.

Work Instruction No.: 3.11 Create & Modify Spring support [Create pipesupport form > Create/Modify Spring] Navigate to ATTA The spring button triggers a question form asking for constant or variable spring.
