Use the Strip Tube Ruler to make this quilt a snap! Width of fabric calculated at 40" of workable fabric. All seams are " .

Collect 40 2 " strips x width of fabric of various prints. From your Background fabric, cut 203 " strips from width of fabric. Sew together two print strips and a Background strip. Press away from the background. Your strip set should measure 7 " wide. Repeat with other strips to make 20 strip sets. Place two strip sets right sides together so the background is on strips and strips are on background. Sew a " seam down each long side to create a tube.

Place the 9" measurement line of The Strip Tube Ruler * on the bottom stitching line and cut a 9" triangle. Press the middle seam in the same direction as the other seams. Cut off any dog ears. Repeat with the 9" measurement on the top stitching line, making fresh cuts. Then continue down the strip set until you have 5 squares measuring 9". Repeat with the other strip sets to get 50 blocks. *See the NOTE on Page 2 if you do not have the Strip Tube RulerTM. Copyright Cozy Quilt Designs 2008-2010. All rights reserved.

Setting Triangles
From your Setting Triangles fabric, cut 3 14" strips. Cut those strips into 5 14" squares. Then cut those squares into quarters by cutting twice diagonally to get 18 Setting Triangles. From your remaining Setting Triangles fabric, cut 2 7 " squares. Then cut those squares in half by cutting once diagonally to get 4 Corner Setting Triangles. Keep aside.

Assembling Quilt
Lay out your quilt as pictured on the next page. Twist and turn your blocks to get the correct arrangement. Note: the seams will not match between blocks. Assemble your blocks by rows, adding a setting triangle to each side of each row where required. The picture to the right shows the first three rows. Alternate your pressing direction with each row and cut off the dog ears. Then sew the rows together. Add the Corner Setting Triangles last.

Trim " from block points. Once the quilt is together, trim the Setting Triangles to make the edges even. To do this, place your ruler along the top side of the quilt. Line up the block points along the " measurement on your ruler. Trim. Cutting " from the points allows a little extra fabric so that when you add your first border the points "float". NOTE: While this technique is made much easier with the Strip Tube RulerTM, you can use a square-up ruler 9 " or larger instead. Turn it so the 0 point is on the top. Mark your ruler from the right 9" measurement to the left 0 9" measurement with masking tape or 1" 1" 2" Omnigrid Glow-Line tape. Use these 2" lines as your placement guides.
