Introduction: Purpose of this document:


The intention is to provide advice on life insurance coverage to prospective clients of GenIns by developing a new web based life insurance advice system named Cognosurance.

1.2

Scope:
The scope of this project is to develop an application Cognosurance which enables the web to extract and get the details of the customers and retrieve the data when requested. It will also make the user aware of the business rules and schemes of GenIns. The aim is to make the application user- friendly, flexible and enable concurrent usage.

User Requirements

Number of users:Maximum of 150 users and enables upto 40 concurrent usage.

All type of users with basic level computer experience are expected make use of this application.

Different users with different access rights is required. The system is to be run on Windows 2000 machines each with a minimum of 128Mb RAM.

Stand alone application. Approx. number of records required initially plus anticipated growth is expected to be 150 customers increasing at 50 per year.

Remote users need to dial-in to the main system to get the most upto-date information.

To ensure backup,last transactional records are maintained up until the system resumes normal operation in case of system crash.

Functional Requirements:
Produce a Life Insurance Coverage Advice Report (Report format to be approved by GenIns) with, Details of all inputs provided by Client Explanation of Business rule(s) used Premium to be charged if coverage was taken from GenIns. Applicable Discounts and rates of discounts Produce the total number of Advice Reports generated each day, week and month including Client Name, Date of Birth and contact information for advice generated each day, week and month

The application should be user-friendly, error/exception displayed should be user Clients should be able to send emails to GenIns representatives directly from the All front-end pages and reports should be served up in less than 3 seconds. The

friendly & non-technical, insurance advice reports generated should be Printer-friendly. Cognosurance website and the system should be able to support 40 concurrent users. Cognosurance will accept the following inputs from the Client Client Information (Name, Address, email, Date of birth of Client) (IP1) Annual Income of Client (IP2) Number of Children Education cost per child per year Numbers of years Dependants require income of Client Balance of Mortgage (Home loan) Balance of other loans (Vehicle, Personal) Current value of liquid Assets Current value of investments Estimated future (life long) medical expense costs Value of any existing Life Insurance coverage Details of any other policies with GenIns Details on whether Client is a non-smoker
