Course Description
The Diploma of Hairdressing Salon Management; WRH50109 has been designed for owners or managers who wish to develop their skills and knowledge in relation to the service and sales delivery of a functioning hairdressing salon. Likely functions in the hairdressing industry for those who achieve this qualification may involve managing a salon and employing staff. Duties may include working as part of a salon team and coordinating salon team/s. Functions at this level include the self-directed application of a broad range of knowledge and skills and the provision of leadership and support to colleagues through the development and management of human resource development initiatives. The salon Manger at this level may focus on building the business, leading and developing and implementing marketing activities, and ensuring all occupational health and safety requirements are maintained.

Qualification
Students successfully completing the course will receive the Nationally Accredited, WRH 50109; Diploma of Hairdressing Salon Management.

Teaching Methods
This program is delivered in a classroom based environment and also the simulated work place environment if applicable. The delivery may include face to face teaching,lectures, discussions, workshop activities, field trips, research; Computer based tasks, home based learning activities group works, supervised practical sessions.

Admission Requirements and Prerequisite

Applicants must be at least 18 years or over. Academic Requirements To gain entry to this course, participants should have successfully completed year 12 or secondary studies in applicants home country equivalent to an Australian Yea 12 qualification. Mature age students will also be considered without minimum education requirement but with relevant work experience within chosen area of study and a demonstrated capacity to meet course requirements. Candidates are advised tosubmit relevant work experience evidenced by work reference letter on company letterhead; work samples; and curriculum vitae. English Language Requirements An English Language profiency level of one of the following: - IELTS band score of 5.5 or equivalent internationally recognised exam result in line with DIAC regulations; - Satisfactory completion of the ESL Course/English language course or satisfactory completion of 5-10 weeks ELICOS from a National ELT Accreditation Scheme (NEAS) Accredited English Institution with an IELTS score of 5.0

Assessment
Assessments may comprise of written assignments and project works. Assessments may also include observations, portfolio of evidence, third part reports and workplace projects.
