BA&R, established in 2006, is a fast-growing, vibrant team that provides three main capabilities: Investment Research, Database Modelling & Analysis and Business Intelligence & Decision Support (BIDS). This position is part of the BIDS capability. BIDS is closely aligned with key businesses of Fidelity to offer competitive intelligence, customer and market insights, strategy and decision analysis, and web analytics.
About the position This role would support managers/ senior managers that engage with our business partners in two of Fidelitys groups Fidelity Business Consulting (Fidelitys internal strategy consulting group) and Devonshire Investors (Fidelitys internal private equity arm).

Roles & Responsibilities:

Independently handling secondary research oriented projects and developing subject-matter expertise in research tools, competencies and databases Conducting research independently or with minimal supervision to direct quality efforts towards final report / output generation Independently conduct deep analyses, insight generation and final report making Supervising and quality control Interacting with clients to understand their analysis requirements and also throughout the life of the project (kickoff, interim review, final review etc) Closely involved in presenting findings of research, analyses etc to a diverse group of stakeholders

Experience and Qualifications: Bachelors degree with good academic record MBA or equivalent qualification from top-tier institutions.

1-2 years work experience in meaningful experience in strategic secondary research, value-added knowledge services, insight-building, consulting Experience in financial services, private equity and consulting is valued Skills/ Knowledge

Should have proven capabilities in specific secondary research areas such as Competitive Intelligence, Market/ Industry Analyses, Benchmarking Studies, Qualitative Content Analyses etc Comfort with various techniques of secondary research such as looking up right sources, understanding source credibility, keyword usage, etc

Demonstrated an above-par analytical ability Flair for quantitative/ qualitative data analyses and interprtation Ability to process data to draw insights, answering so what questions about data

Able to synthesize large volumes of data into comprehensible and insightful information Excellent English written and verbal communication skills Attention to detail, especially in all aspects of report making from research to preparation of presentation and client interaction

Adept in Word, Excel and PowerPoint with special focus on zero-defect outputs Comfortable with knowledge/ information portal management

Understanding of known industry analysis tools such as Porters Five Forces, SWOT analysis, Competitive Metrics, Quadrant Analyses such as BCG or GE matrix etc; also able to generate coherent and intelligent frameworks to convey own insights Knowledge of online databases such as Bloomberg, Factiva, Nexis, OneSource, Markets.com, Dialog etc Strong work ethic in terms of time management, ownership of project and clients objective Driven, self-starter, go-getter, solution-oriented Would typically be in the top 10% of his/ her organization, performance-wise
