PLASCO AND THE SALINAS VALLEY

Who is Plasco Energy Group?

Plasco is a Canadian technology company headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Our company has been developing its proprietary plasma technology for over 30 years. Today, we are 100 employees strong and have raised $270 million in investment to develop and commercialize our patented technology. We are actively working on clean conversion technology projects worldwide.

A Partner for Economic Development

Through construction, support and ongoing operation of a facility, Plasco will:
Create approximately 37 clean tech, green collar jobs in the operations, administration and maintenance of the facility with an estimated annual payroll of $2 million
Engage with local companies as service providers including architects, engineers, construction workers and general laborers Return 25% of excess revenues to the Solid Waste Authority Work with local educators to establish new career opportunities and learning programs Help attract other green technologies to the area

Project Description
A Plasco waste conversion facility will convert Salinas Valleys postrecycled municipal solid waste (MSW) into renewable electricity, construction aggregate and reclaimed water.

The proposed facility will:

Most likely be located at the Johnson Canyon Landfill, east of the city of Gonzales Process only post-recycled waste from the Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority Divert approximately 100,000 tons per year from the Johnson Canyon Landfill

Plasco has contributed over $130 million to Ontarios economy over the past 4 years.

Like Plascos project in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada a website will be created where visitors can review environmental and operations data as well as other project information.

INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY
Plasco is the only company in the world that converts municipal solid waste into a fuel that can run engine generators to produce electricity. Plasco uses a patented, non-incineration process using plasma arc technology to convert post-recycled waste into renewable electricity and other beneficial products.
0.9 MWh of renewable electricity 53 gallons of reclaimed water 6 gallons of waste water

Our process is the result of over 30 years of research and development which has attracted $270 million in private investment.

What will become of 1 Ton of Salinas Valleys waste?

275 lbs of aggregate to be used in construction or other building materials

Based on Salinas Valley municipal solid waste containing 6225 Btu/lb.

PLASCO TRAIL ROAD

Commercial Sized-Demonstration Plant
The purpose of this facility is to demonstrate the technology and to optimize performance.

We operate our facility:

For potential clients, investors and visitors To collect operational performance data and optimize performance To collect environmental performance data through continuous emissions monitoring and source testing

The Trail Road facility has converted over 7000 tons of the City of Ottawas post-recycled MSW over 2 1/2 years. Since the facility first began processing post-recycled MSW in January 2008, Operations have successfully demonstrated:
Electricity generation from engine generators powered by syngas Performance efficiencies at or above expectations Superior environmental performance Production of aggregate

Plasco Trail Road is the only facility in the world that converts postrecycled municipal solid waste (MSW) into a synthetic gas that can run engine generators to produce electricity.

Water recovery and treatment that meets Ottawas standards

ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE
We are committed to going beyond compliance.
Operations at Plasco Trail Road continue to strive for world-leading environmental performance. Over the past 2 1/2 years, Plasco has demonstrated its commitment to environmental excellence and protection. When emissions hit our limits, we immediately stopped operations to take corrective action. This experience and proactive approach enabled us to achieve the following environmental performance in December 2010:
