WHAT

For this assignment, you will work in small groups to write design requirements for an online identity management mini-hub. WHY This assignments purpose is to: 1. Help you practice analyzing qualitative data and translating it into personas, scenarios, use cases, design requirements. HOW You will analyze interview data collected from engineering and technology students about their perceptions and practices related to online identity management. You will analyze the data and based on it, produce the following: Persona(s) Scenario(s) (Essential) use case(s) Design requirements Steps: 1. Make sure you understand the idea of online identity management as explained in the ASEE paper available on Bb > Readings > ID Management Resources. 2. Make sure you understand the vision for the product on online hub to help students learn about how to manage their identity online. Read the proposal available on Bb > Readings > ID Management Resources. 3. Read the interview transcripts (again and again). The first three steps should be done individually. The next steps need to be discussed and negotiated as a group: 4. Based on the interview transcripts, identify goals and behavior patterns. Based on them, create the appropriate number of personas. Write the personas. 5. Write at least one scenario for each persona. 6. Write at least two essential use cases for the most important tasks for each persona. 7. Write lists of design requirements for the online mini-hub. 8. Assemble everything into one Design Requirements Report. Make sure you explain your methods in detail in the Introduction to the report.

Usability Report 2: Personas, Scenarios, Use Cases, Design Requirements (10 points)

The report should contain the following sections, but it is up to you how you decide to present the content in each section: 1. Title page 2. Table of contents (replaces executive summary) 3. Introduction Describe the problem and the product youre working on; In other words, describe the purpose of this report answer the questions: What is this report? Why was this report written? Whats in this report? 4. Methods Describe the data you analyzed (how many interviews, from what kind of sample; provide the samples demographics); Describe the process you used to analyze the interview transcripts and come up with personas, scenarios, use cases, and design requirements. 5. A section for each: Persona(s), Scenario(s), (Essential) Use cases, Design requirements. 6. References create a list of references in APA style and list all the citations you referred to in your text. Grading Criteria: Correctness of core concepts: Personas, scenarios, use cases, design requirements are written correctly, following accepted standards for writing each type of document. No confusion between personas and scenarios, for example. This connection is made apparent in the methods section and in additional notes, if necessary. The report is appropriate for a business setting looks appealing; it is easy to read, easy to find information.
