Of course you are not allowed to copy those sample resumes because these samples will not tell anything about your skills and even relative experience during your college years. To help you get started, here are some tips on how to write a good looking resume. It is not a sample but a general idea on how to write your resume. By sticking to an idea, you will not end up copying parts of sample resume.

Recruiters Have Seen Them All

Do not think that recruiters and human resources have not seen them all. Every type of resume, form and writing style (good and bad) are already familiar to head hunters and recruiters. Copying parts of cover letters from a popular website could be easily identified and will be noticed. The writing style of the author of the sample resume is different to your writing style. Any deviation to the writing style will show.

It is important not to have a sample cover letter in front with you while writing one of your own. Oftentimes, you will be inclined to copy the cover letter when they are accessible. Here Is simple tip: read as many cover letters as you can but do not have any copies of those letters when you start writing. Be original in your writing style so that you can provide the recruiters an idea of your ability to think independently.

Being Sorry in Your Cover Letter

The worst thing about being a fresh graduate is having no experience in any industry. As companies are seeking out employees who have a working idea of the industry, the fresh graduates are often left behind.

But that does not mean you should be sorry about being inexperienced. Why? It is not your fault being young. There are fresh graduates who include their cover letter with this statement, I may be inexperienced but or Im just a fresh graduate but.... You are practically killing your chances of getting hired because you are giving them the idea that you are inexperienced or a fresh graduate without any skills.

[Recipient Name] July 8, 2011 Page 3 Skip this phrase and go directly to your skills and relative experience that could be helpful in the industry. It may not be much but showing them that you have been excellent in these simple tasks will make you an outstanding candidate. Besides, you already have a degree that could be related to the industry you want to work with. If there is anything a company should look for, it is a degree related to the industry.

Short and Sweet

Never forget the simple rule of thumb in cover letters: keep it short. Remember that you are also attaching your resume to the cover letter. Write the cover letter as if it is a preview of what they will read in your resume. Last but not the least: proofread like crazy. After editing the cover letter, stay away from your cover letter for an hour or two and read them again. Do not think you will be hired for a wrong spelling and bad grammar.

Resume for Fresh Graduate First Impressions Count

Posted on May 19, 2008 by admin How can you create a resume that stands out if you do not have any working experience to start with? This is a common question asked by job seekers who have just left school or a training institution. Despite the fact that you do not have any professional achievements to boast about, drafting an outstanding resume for fresh graduate like you is still possible. Although new graduates are lacking in working experience, they have plenty of knowledge gained from their education. And that knowledge is recent and specific to their industry. Fresh graduates are often more knowledgeable about the latest technology and able to inject in new ideas as well as energy. Make full use of what you have acquired in school to your benefit. Play up the skills and knowledge that you have learnt. What you do in your free time can also be added to your resume. But be sure to only include those activities that are relevant to the job you are applying for. However, a section dedicated to these free time activities is not required and should be avoided. Instead, highlight the skills that you have acquired from these hobbies throughout your resume for fresh graduate. Never leave out volunteer work. Volunteer work demonstrates to the potential employer that you are a team player and that you can dedicate yourself to an effort as well as an organization. Some students engage in charity or intern work while they are still schooling to secure references and work experience that can give them an edge in their job search. Want to show that you are a great team player on your resume? Include club activities and specifically how you tackle a difficult class assignment as a team. If you had to produce a product or conduct a case study as a school assignment, you can put this in if it is related to the job duties that you will be expected to carry out if employed. If you find your resume is still lacking after considering all the above, you can give it a boost in your cover letter. Your resume cover letter is your one shot to show why you should be considered for the position. Demonstrate to the potential employer that you have the ability and aptitude to outperform all other candidates despite your lack of experience. Be persuasive, but do not sound too aggressive or proud. Most educational institution provide employment assistance to their students. This includes guiding and preparing you for a job interview. If your school provides such assistance, grab it. Do not hesitate to seek assistance in writing a resume for fresh graduate.
