Dept. of Civil Engineering In view of this Departments pre-eminence in the context of indias infrastructure building, the college has hired an eminent teacher , prof. C.K. Upendran, to head the department . prof. C.K. Upendran has long years of experience heading civil Engineering Department in College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram and as principal, Mary Matha College of Engineering, paliyode, Thiruvananthapuram state of the art laboratories required for the department strength of Materials Lab, soil Engineering Lab, Hydraulic Engineering Lab, CAD lab, survey labs,etc. using the best machinery and equipment are being built. Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering This department has 4 laboratories and a Computer Centre which are equipped with latest Pentium - IV core to duo systems. There are about 600 machines in the 8 labs. Students have free access to the Internet in the Computer Centre and in the laboratories and at both Mens Hostel and Womens Hostel. MBA DEGREE PROGRAMME STRUCTURE The MBA programme of Anna University has been designed to bring the best out of the students as manager or entrepreneur and provides for learning and practice of modern managerial techniques and practices with emphasis on structure, strategy, technology and people. The programme has four semesters - duration spread over two years. PLACEMENT AND TRAINING CELL The placement and training cell tries to bring the prospective employers closer to the Campus. It gives emphasis to Industry-Faculty interaction and has developed closer ties between the two. Students are placed for summer training and project training in leading industrial concerns. Hostel The College provides exceedingly good accommodation and food in separate Hostels for Boys and Girls. The menu includes North Indian, South Indian, Kerala and Tamilnadu Food. Breakfast with tea, three course lunch, tea and snack in the evening, supper and a glass of milk at night prepared in a highly hygienic kitchen using steam by staff trained in star hotels. But the cost is kept very low by dividing system and efficient management. The College is in a position to offer food of star quality at around Rs.1350/- to Rs. 1500/- per month. The College maintains top quality cows for captive milk supply. The annual fixed charge on reThe annual fixed charge on rent, electricity, water and establishment is Rs.8,000/-. There is a refundable deposit of Rs.4,000/- towards mess advance. A student gets a set of quality furniture: a cot with a 2" rubber foam mattress, a chair, a table with lockable cupboard and drawer and a tripple cupboard steel bureau which has a wardrobe and a locker.
