MONTHLY CRIME BULLETIN Auto Breaking and Entering September 2011 Activity Summary: There were nineteen (19) Auto B&Es reported in September 2011. There were thirty-one (31) Auto B&Es reported during the same timeframe in 2010. This is a 39% decrease from 2010 to 2011. The zone with the highest number of incidents is West 1 with nine (9), or 47%. The reporting tract with the highest number of incidents is A2 with five (5), or 26%. Eleven (11), or 58%, of the incidents took place at residential locations. Thirteen (13), or 68%, of the incidents involved forced entry. Seven (7), or 37%, of the incidents were discovered on a Friday. Eight (8), or 42%, of the incidents were discovered between the hours of 0400 and 0759. Nineteen (19) incidents are open for further investigation. Historically, HPD has an average of 24 Auto B&Es during the month of September with a current threshold of 7 to 41. This September, we were within the threshold with 19 reported Auto B&Es. Forecast for October: The average number of Auto B&Es for the month of October is 34 plus or minus 14.
