Executive Recruiters Add Professional Staff To Keep Pace With Corporate Hiring
The challenge for the majority of executive search firms these days is as much about fulfilling

JMC Job Search Tips (Simple Things pt 40…)

Online Job Search…
According to a newly formed organization called the International Association of
Employment Web Sites, there are currently over 40,000 job boards and career related
sites. They are a touting themselves as a type of trade group that is currently made up of
over 500 companies, professional groups, newspapers, broadcast media, colleges, etc.
On their web site, you can get an idea of the current or prevailing thought process of online
hiring professionals as well as helpful hints for using the Internet in job search. Also there
are new federal guidelines for companies of 50 employees or more regarding standardizing
their applicant definitions in order to assist the government in tracking diversity in hiring
practices particularly as related to the applicant pool. The bottom line is that companies
are now required to assure the government that their definition of an applicant is consistent
across all online sources whether a candidate comes in via their own web site or a job
board. Thus the rules are tightening for companies and job seekers as job and applicant
procedural definitions must be explicitly clear and job seekers must follow them to the
letter…
