Muscular system

There are 3 main muscles In the body. The cardiac muscles. The smooth muscles and the skeletal muscles. There are about 600 skeletal muscles in the human body, the skeletal muscles are attached to the skeleton. The muscles have to co-operate to function, as 1 moves the bone and 1 pulls it back. Smooth muscles are found in our internal organs, in our digestive system and much more. Smooth muscles are involuntary muscles and they don't need to contract because the involuntary muscles are controlled automaticly. Smooth muscles can stretch and maintain over extended periods. The Cardiac muscle is the only muscle found in the heart. It can stretch like a smooth muscle and contract like a skeletal muscle. The Cardiac muscle, ( the heart ) it's a twitch muscle, it only does short and single contractions. The smooth muscle is like the cardiac muscle, there are both involuntary, because if the heart was voluntary our heart could stop beating any second.

Muscle diseases
Myopathy Myopathies are diseases of skeletal muscle which are not caused by nerve disorders. These diseases cause the skeletal or voluntary muscles to become weak or wasted. Myopathies are usually degenerative, but they are sometimes caused by drug side effects, chemical poisoning, or a chronic disorder of the immune system. Chronic fatigue syndrome Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is an illness characterized by prolonged, debilitating fatigue and multiple nonspecific symptoms such as headaches, recurrent sore throats, muscle and joint pains, memory and concentration difficulties. Chronic fatigue syndrome is a debilitating and complex disorder characterized by profound fatigue of six months. Muscular dystrophy Muscular dystrophy (MD) is a broad term that describes a genetic (inherited) disorder of the muscles. Muscular dystrophy causes the muscles in the body to become very weak. The muscles break down and are replaced with fatty deposits over time. Muscular

dystrophy is a genetic disorder that is characterized by muscle wasting and weakening. Dermatomyositis Dermatomyositis is one of a group of inflammatory muscle diseases. It is a subtype of inflammatory muscle disease. Dermatomyositis may affect people of any race, age or sex, although it is twice as common in women than in men. Dermatomyositis belongs to a group of conditions called inflammatory myopathies.

Voluntary muscles
Voluntary muscles are muscles that are controlled by the neurons and are told to contract when the muscles need to be contracted, The voluntary muscles are not needed to control on your own. Like your heart it is involuntary and it controls itself it doesn't need your neurons to make it contract and its involuntary
