LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SOLUTION

HCL Infosystems Limited is providing one of the leading library


management solutions (LMS) in the global market. Our LMS is designed
on all international standards like MARC-21, UNICODE, SIP/SIP2, etc.
LMS is completely user-friendly menu driven interface, online help,
complete and elaborative help documentation, online downloading of
bibliographic details, sharing of database or bibliographic details with
international or national libraries based on international standards like
ISO 2709, Z39.50, etc. HCL is also can provide solutions like RFID
based security and circulation including drop box, self check-out
station, EAS Security Gate; biometric based access or simple barcode
based circulation system. The same LMS solution can be used for the
digital library also; any digital format document can be attached with
the proposed LMS. HCL also have dedicated a software for the
management of the digital library, where simply scanned images or

Wizdom v1.2 is built on flexible and robust architecture, which has five main

The concept is really simple. Learning Portal is the front end of the system,
and provides the complete overview of the available and assigned courses,
collaboration sessions, progress report and other learning items.

Learning Management helps instructor or administrator define and structure


the learning paths as per individual learner or group requirements.

Knowledge Base and Collaboration Items Management enable authors and


instructors to add and configure content, and collaboration tools like Chat,
Whiteboard, Discussion Forum, Newsgroups, Surveys etc.

User Management helps administrators to manage the users of the system,


their roles, groups, grades, and skill sets.

For the learners, Learning Portal is the first point of contact in the system.
With its clear structure, it provides an intuitive and friendly environment to

Assessment of knowledge is critical to any learning process. Wisdom provides
a powerful in-built assessment generation tool. Authors can pick and choose
from a vast array of questions types, which include MCQ, MMCQ, Fill in the
Blanks, Match the Following, Drag-Drop, Hot-Spot etc. Features like
Randomize Questions, Adaptive Testing enable the author to test learner
knowledge more effectively. All the test scores are stored for generating
learner progress reports.

User Management

Most organizations overlook the HR aspect of the learning platform while


implementing it, which results into increased budgets, and delayed
installations, and hence reduced return on investment. The learning system

must be able to adapt to your organization hierarchy, and also synchronize

the move, e-learning is fast becoming the ideal choice for the convenient
learning process of today.

But the e-learning courses as we know them, lack two very fundamental
features of the conventional classroom course –

- No interaction between teachers and students.


- No sense of peer pressure.

Lack of these features prevents elearning from becoming a complete learning


experience. This is where Wizdom Room comes in.

How does Wizdom Room work –

Using our web based interactive wizard schedule a session and add students
who would attend the session. The mails will automatically go to all the
students who have been invited.

On the appointed time, you can launch the session, and students would join
the session from their college/home/office by simply clicking on ‘Launch
Session’ link. There is no need to download any software prior to joining the
meeting.

Once a session starts, live session can be shown to all the students using our
Video tool. Video size is easily configurable and can be set as twice the size of
what is shown here. Pre-recorded video can also be shared with the users.

You can also talk to students and interact with them to solve their queries
using the Audio tool.

Other interesting features are –

Students can also interact with each other and the mentors with help of chat
tool. Mentors can answer all the queries of the students over here.

Another feature of the software is whiteboard – which can be used to explain


certain queries and also be used to draw diagrams etc, which can further
clarify the doubts of trainees. PowerPoint presentations, image files, PDF files
etc can also be uploaded on the whiteboard – thus if you already have some
study material then it can be easily plugged into Wizdom Room.

Poll is another interesting feature, with the help of which the asst. surgeon
can conduct polls on the fly and can know the opinion of the trainees on any
particular matter.

One of the best features of the software is that the entire


session is recorded on the server.

Thus, a student according to his convenience come to the website and attend
the session – audio, video, Whiteboard and chat interactions are all recorded
in the central database for future reference.

Maintenance and Support Services

Overview

WiZDOM customers may select on an annual basis from three levels of


maintenance support services. Pricing and the scope and details of
maintenance support services vary with the level selected.
Maintenance support services address the Customer's questions about
the operation of WiZDOM and the Customer reported malfunctions of
WiZDOM.

Service Levels

Bronze, Silver and Gold are annual maintenance and contracted


services levels consisting of different Service Types, Service Hours,
Escalation Elapsed Times, and Pricing. Maintenance support service
levels entitle Customer to contact WiZDOM Team with questions about
the operation of WiZDOM and with reports of WiZDOM malfunctions. To
know more about details about service levels, and associated costs,
please refer to the attached support and maintenance document.

Project Execution Details

System Deployment

For deployment, following process will be followed –

1. An extensive walk-through of the system will be given to the


client, and the expected customizations will be recorded
down.
2. After understanding the client’s requirement a customization
document will be presented to the client, and a sign-off on the
same will be taken.
3. Upon receiving the sign-off on the document, customization
as per requirements will be carried out.
4. The finished product would be presented to the client for
evaluation.
5. Upon sign-off on the finished solution, the solution will be
deployed on the hardware provided by the client.
6. Usage training will be conducted for the client’s team to
familiarize them with the solution.

Quality Assurance

HCL will start implementing the customized solution in a phased


manner. Timelines will be drawn between the development and
implementation schedule. HCL will notify in advance the scheduled
implementation date of a component so that the client is prepared to
depute any concerned personnel if necessary and make available the
required resources and information.

While these phases are generic, the client retains the flexibility to
modify the above methodology and suggest alternatives that could
guide the software development process more efficiently and
effectively. Provision for customisation of development methodology is
carried out during the Requirement Analysis phase of the project.

deliverable, then we follow the Change Management process as

Terms & Conditions:


• Delivery: 6-8 weeks from the date of receipt of the PO and
payment.

• Taxes: The above prices are exclusive of all local taxes. The
same will be charged extra as applicable by HCL to (Client).

• Warranty: There is a warranty on the solution purchased for one


year from the date purchased. Thereafter, the warranty will
continue to get extended on an annual basis as long as (Client)
continues to renew the Annual Maintenance on an annual and
timely basis from the second year onwards.

• Validity of Prices: These prices are valid for 30 days.

• Force Majeure: HCL shall be under no liability whatsoever on


the occurrence of any Force Majeure event such as war, fire,
arson, industrial action, orders of government or other duly
constituted authority, any natural calamities or Act of God, etc.

• HCL provides the solution to (Client) based on the above


understanding, In case any additional scope of work or legal
licenses or copyright act has to be noticed by (Client) only.

• HCL and (Client) will come into a agreement to fulfil the scope
and when ever there is change in scope mutually will agree and
the same in the agreement as and when it arises.

• Above pricing is for generic softwares. In case of any


customisation in software charges will be taken as per the degree
of customization in the software
